What is this specificaly for? What are the dimensions of the case?

It is for seating bearings in their holes. You assemble it so that you have the right inner piece that fits in the hole of the bearing itself along with the larger piece which allows you to push on the outer race of the bearing during insertion. Case is small, 8x6x3 or so.
