This saw is the answer for cutting tall, thick tree branches!
This is a little miracle worker of a saw! I was facing a daunting task – trimming a giant pyracantha bush in our back yard, which I would normally tackle with a manual tree pruner / lopper. Well this year we’ve had an especially tough winter with lots of snow. All the snow build-up caused the branches to droop so bad they were touching our deck, and I saw just how out of control the tree had gotten. I knew it was time to bring in some tougher hardware than a branch clipper and found this pole saw on Amazon. It slices right through the branches with very little effort or kick-back! There’s not much assembly required, just be sure to add the oil to it before running. It was somewhat heavy, especially to hold upright for a long time, so I took quite a few breaks while sawing. FYI I’m relatively small and weak lol, so for a big burly guy it would probably not be that heavy. But this tool was immensely easier to use than a clipper or manual saw. Plus the price is right! My before & after pictures do look a little wonky because I cut a bunch of dead debris from the center of the tree, but these are incredibly hardy plants that regenerate quickly. I’m guessing by spring, that ugly center portion will be all filled in. I’m trying to “train” it to grow up and out length-wise, because it functions as our screen for nosy neighbors. In any case, the length of the pole allowed me to reach tall branches without having to balance on a ladder. One of the best yard tools I’ve ever purchased and would highly recommend.

Cheap saw gets the small jobs done
I used this last year to help clear cut some overgrown areas of my property. It works great on smaller limbs and brush. It made cleaning my yard up much easier. I recommend this item.

Cuts through branches like BUTTER
I received a damaged chainsaw. I returned it (free shipping) and got a replacement right away. It is very easy to use and is not too heavy. I wish the telescoping handle were longer. The protective cover is not snug, does not lock in place and will fall off if you're walking with the chainsaw. The protective cover is only useful when storing the chainsaw on the ground or if storing upright, the cover can sit on the chain like a hat. I have had no prior experience using a chainsaw so I was a bit nervous but the instruction manual is an excellent document and made the chainsaw easy for me to use. The saw cut through thick branches almost like cutting through butter. It was fun. I noticed that the cut branches had chainsaw oil sprayed on them. I don't know if this is normal since I am new at this. But overall I am very satisfied and made a good investment.

Great saw for the cost
Great little saw and keeps me off the ladder.

It has issues
I'd like to say this saw started out great. It was cutting think branches with no issues. The problem is with the pole. It has plastic couplers to hold the sections together. The chainsaw end is naturally heavier and being extended out to the full length the plastic broke lifting the saw up to cut. The pole can't be bypassed either to make a small chainsaw. Without the pole holding the unit together the saw is useless.

Reaches high up so no ladder required.
Works great even on thicker branches. Completed 3 bushes in the same time it would take me to get the electric trimmer out. With the pole I did not need a ladder and liked how I could adjust the blades, which helped for the top of the bush/tree. It is a little heavy while using both pole extensions, but I am 73 years old so a younger person may not have as hard of a time. The strap for putting around your arm is a little cumbersome and did not really help. Battery charged quickly right out of the box. Packaging was very good, nothing could get damaged with all the cardboard they used to pack the trimmer. I would recommend.

Its NOT 12' but it works!!!!!!
I have a fairly big yard and could have justified buying a higher power gas one or a cordless trimmer, but I’m cheap, besides I’m no professional logger, so for the few times a year I’m going to use it, I don’t mind dragging the cord around, I’m slow anyway so it works out. First off, assembly couldn’t be easier, the head goes on with a quick latch, and it comes with enough bar oil to fill the small tank once, it goes fast so be sure to buy extra. The quick latch head also makes storage very easy. I did have a situation where I managed to open the quick latch on the tree or another branch, sending the chainsaw hurling to the ground in my general direction. It didn’t come close enough to fire off a nasty letter, but close enough to get me thinking. Luckily I have my Masters in Backyard Engineering, I actually studied under the world famous Dr. Jerry Rig. I went to my laboratory (it’s a garage) and devised a duct tape safety latch which cured the problem. I bought this in a lighting deal and for what I paid I wasn’t expecting much but figured what the heck. I put this little saw to the test, cutting large limbs and even small trees. It doesn’t have as much reach as other models but it’s certainly adaquate, and relatively light and easy to control, really perfect for light pruning and trimming high woody shrubs. So far I have spent three full days cutting with it, and abusing it a bit and besides the one mishap, the only other issue was when I bound it up and the chain came off, and with the quick change tool less design, putting it back on was a breeze. It has run flawlessly, I’m very satisfied with the purchase. One note, and it didn't matter to me, as I didn't buy it for the reach, but IT IS NOT 12' more like 7'. I posted a picture of it next to an 8' ladder for reference.

Quanlity is OK. Customer Services are excellent
I have used WEN 8"electric pole saw for many years. The angled head is good design. Extendable shaft also makes it safer to use. Bought the first one in 2022, used occasionally. The cover with a pin to tighten the chain tension broke. WEN sent me a new cover at no charges. The motor burned after 2 years with light use. Bought a second one at the end of 2024 due to good sale price. Again the motor burned after 7 months. The saw may be used 5 times in 7 months for cutting branches not larger than 4". WEN customer service sent me a brand new head at no charges. Although the quality is not the best for the money but WEN does stand behind their products. Updated: I received the new head with new motor from WEN. It took 10 minutes of cutting some 4" diameter branch and the smoke can be seen from the motor. Now I am going to shop for another pole saw. WEN customer service stand behind their products but the quality needs lots of improvements.
