Powerful suction and cleaning quality
Only room in house with carpet is closet so needed something small to clean a mess my dog made. This little machine is easy to use and has great suction. Area dried quick. Picture shows an area I started that had dried pee I didn't know was there. So picture shows the spot cleaned and no stain. Of course will have to do whole closet due to dirt, but it cleaned awesome. I haven't tried all the other tools with it yet, but so far it cleans great. Highly recommend for pet owners to clean spot messes.

The best!
I used it to detail my car seats that got some really bad stains. Excellent suction power, quiet, convenient size and weight. I liked that you could focus on cleaning and don’t have to change the tanks often. It was so efficient that I advanced faster than expected. The different tools are also very helpful. The nozzle sprays evenly and you can control how much cleaner you need to use. It cleaned old stains that I had not been able to remove before. The tools fit in places that I didn’t expect and I was able to do more cleaning than expected. My car bad smell was neutralized and it smells fresh and clean. It is perfect! I don’t have a before picture of all my seats, but it did an excellent job removing stains and suctioning the cleaning solution. Totally worth it.

Blows competition out of the water
I had a bissel pro extractor for 15 or so years. I hated how hard it was to clean the dirty water tank. I hated how heavy it was. I hated how you couldn't clean the nozzle at all. After the hose on that broke and I couldn't find a replacement, I started looking around. I looked at a bissell again but it had many of the same issues I hated about my old one. I decided to give Shark a shot as I've loved their other products. This thing is a grand slam for me. Comes with so many attachments, and its so easy to clean every part. The nozzles all come apart for cleaning, the tank is super easy to take apart and clean, suction is way better. The tank sizes are a little small, but that's okay. The feature to spray clean water through the hose is genius. I used to have to dump water into the old bissel nozzle and spill it. This thing is great for the average person, and will certainly work well for those with pets

PX202BRN did not ship with the self-cleaning attachment to clean out the hose. PX251 is excellent.
EDIT:: This review is for both the PX202 and the PX251 HairPro. PX202 -- I initially bought the PX202BRN to replace an old Bissell that has started leaking from the clean water container (second tank I bought for it...I've had several Bissells and they all leak after a while). After looking at pretty much every review and Youtube video I could find, I picked this Shark PX202 because it had all of the features I wanted including a self-cleaning attachment for the hose. My old Bissell didn't have any way to clean the hose and it was disgusting after several years of cleaning up pet messes. When I unpacked it I discovered that it was missing the self-cleaning attachment. I searched the reviews here and it's a pretty common issue. Other reviews mentioned that Shark did not have the part available when they were contacted about it. Shark also doesn't show this part on their website so it's not even available to buy separately. I found this unusual because you can find parts for pretty much any Shark product all over the place. Parts for their carpet vacs in general seem to be hard to find though. It's possible that Shark customer service can send this part out if you call them but I didn't want to deal with the hassle so I ordered a PX251 HairPro instead. PX251 HairPro review -- 5 stars for this one. It had all the accessories and attachments as advertised. Fortunately or unfortunately I got to try it out right away because my dog got a very upset stomach and woke us up at 1:30 a.m. when he had a pretty large accident on the carpet. I grudgingly work up, filled up both tanks and got to work. Everything worked great, first with the pet mess tool, then with the regular cleaning head. It picked everything up without any problems and was much easier to clean the dirty water tank and the cleaning heads than my old Bissell. The self cleaning system on the PX251 is very easy to use and doesn't require the external attachment like the PX202 does. Just press the cleaning head or plain nozzle on the top part of the cleaning tank and it does its thing and flushes out the hose. Very well designed system. Very happy with the PX251. The only minor negatives are that the PX251 doesn't come with a lot of cleaning solution and niether the PX202 or PX251 come with anything in which to store the extra attachments. A minor but noticeable oversight. In contrast, the PX202 comes with almost double the amount of cleaning solution than the PX251. You would think the more expensive top-of-the-line one would come with more solution. But that's minor because I usually just make my own DIY solution. I'll be buying more of the Oxy Multiplier though. Overall both are a good choice but be aware that the PX202 might not come with the cleaning attachment. If that is important to you like it is for me, the PX251 is the better choice. So, 5 stars for the PX251 but rated everything 4 stars overall because of the missing attachment on the PX202, the lack of any storage for the various cleaning attachments, and the miniscule amount of cleaning solution the PX251 comes with. I like Shark products and have several of them including a stick vac, a regular upright vac that is still working great after almost 15 years, a robot vac, now the PX251. Overall I think they make decent stuff for the money.

Potent punch in a pint sized machine
I have a full-sized Hover wet/steam vac, but I was looking for something more portable for the stairs and for when baby just throws up a little. This machine has answered my call flawlessly. This machine powers through stains be it milk, grime, and pretty much everything other than superglue (no coming back from that one unfortunately). The machine is easy to use, cleans carpet well, and leaves the carpet soft and mostly dry (may need to use the suction 2 or more times to really get it pretty dry). Just a few things to note. First off, it's made to be used with proprietary cleaner fluid, so you are kind of locking yourself in to the ecosystem with this purchase (nothing too new - just look at printers). Second, the instructions for mixing water and the concentrate basically says to fill the tank to 95% with water and then add concentrate - so you're kind of forced to fill the entire container even if you only need a little. Third - the dirty water container fills up really quickly, so while fine while in use with the primary cleaning function, if you want to use it to vacuum a giant water puddle or something you'll need to make multiple trips to empty the container. If you can live with the minor inconveniences above, this portable powerhouse is a great purchase and excellent complement to a larger house-wide steam vac.

Power in a Small Package
This machine worked wonders on my upholstery that endured years of pet-abuse. You may require a few passes on some really bad fabrics/carpet, but this machine handles it all in one go with a separate tank for dirty water and dedicated tanks for different cleaners. The ability to spray cleaner via a trigger-style mechanism on the brush handle makes wetting down areas to soak in product a breeze. Once wet and scrubbed down, the vacuum holds the same quality that Shark products have toted for years. It effortlessly sucks up the nasty looking water leaving your fabrics damp-dry, where air can finish the rest of the job. I guarantee that if you use this on upholstery that appears clean, you may be shocked by the color of water that comes out! You'll want to use it everywhere you relax. On top of all of this, the Shark StainStriker is incredibly portable, meaning you could use this in your car, the office, loan it to a friend, etc. without the pain of hauling heavy equipment. All in all, I look forward to using this more in the future!

Great machine for those pet accidents!
This little machine has just been fantastic! It works well in removing stains for the little accidents that occur from time to time. The suction is great and makes the carpet look like new again. Just so you know, I have 2 yorkies and my carpet is a light tan. The machine is so easy to use and works well. It suctions the water up out of the carpet and it looks great. The spray is also very effective in that it covers the area. I love this machine and wish I had got it a long time ago - it would have saved me some frustration.
