I wish that they had a reddish brown, but I like that it is healthier.

I have been doing my own hair color for many years. And I’ve use all kinds of products varying from just going to the drugstore. We’re going to Sally’s. By far this has been the most labor-intensive application that I’ve ever done and the reason is because the mix turns almost into a paste like substance. This makes it hard to apply on your hair and it also makes the hair feel tough, almost as if you have over, sprayed your hair with hairspray. What usually takes me about 20 minutes to apply nearly took me an hour. This made it very frustrating because I’m not used to that. Though in the product box, you are given a stain blocker to put around your for head, your ears and neck, I was very worried because I still had some stains where I applied the blocker. But thankfully, after thoroughly washing my hair, the stains went away! Besides that, I am very happy with the results as you can see the color pops, and it almost gives you a little bit of highlights. Will I be purchasing this in the future? I am not sure. Maybe I will try it one more time when it’s time to do a touchup.

I'll start by saying that I've been very happy with Madison Reed products previously. I'm giving 2 stars because of that. The product, when packaged correctly, is solid. However, this experience is definitely 1 star territory. Recently purchased a new shade in Dark Garnet Red. 2 kits, since I have long thick hair. THANK GOODNESS I noticed the name of the color on the tube as I was mixing my first batch!!! OMG. It said "Milano Brown 5NAC"... not the Dark Garnet Red 5RV that it should have been. Not only did one of these packages have the wrong color tube, BOTH did. o.O How does that even happen? Anyway, Amazon did make things right, and I'm going to give another order a shot. Just a word of caution to my fellow buyers, please check the color tube to be sure you've got the right color. I am SO glad I noticed as I was mixing... while Milano Brown seems like a lovely color, it's not at all what I was going for, and would have been a very difficult correction.

It's my # 1 hair dye I've ever used love love the color the color after you're done dying very vibrant makes hair silky.
