will it work with 3 zones snare plugged to DTX402k?

I've never had a dtx pad NOT work with a dtx module. I've never owned the 402, but see no reason not to work. The xp80 doesn't have the potentiometer mounted to it to make adjustments, however.

What is the outside dimension of the xp80 drum

Gerald, just measured my XP80 at 10.25" or 260.35mm.

Do I just plug it into a module and run to an amp if I choose? Do I need another trigger?

This drum actually has three trigger zones in it.....just plug into a module and go. You may not be able to utilize all three zones, depending on which module you're using.
