Rankie Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP) (Thunderbolt) to HDMI Adapter (Black)

I bought this to connect a little Lenovo X230 to a HD television via HDMI. I haven't tried it with Win10 yet but, running Linux (Mint 19.2) I'm able to run a video on the TV while viewing a website on the laptop's own screen. The video image on the TV took a few seconds to stabilize but, once it did, I had no issues. Seems sturdy enough, connectors grip well too.

I got this because the HDMI to Mini DP cable I had worked fine, but unfortunately, the mini DP port casing was too thick and so when plugged in, the side of my laptop was raised slightly off the desk. Because of this, the connection could get lose with any slight movement. This adapter fits onto my laptop perfectly. No more trying to balance my laptop to get a connection. Picture quality is great and I can play games or get work done with no issues.

I used this Mini Display Port to HDMI adaptor for connecting a Surface Pro 4 to an external monitor (you still need an additional HDMI cable). It worked without any issues and the device is small enough to keep in the surface carry case at all times.Within the amazon box, it arrived inside a sturdy plastic bag with protective plastic on both ends and a plastic cover on the Mini Display Port connector.I paid £5.95 with Prime delivery and think this was a good value purchase.

works great but have gone through 2 of these in the last 2-3 years which isn’t too bad but is frustrating when it just doesn’t work when you plug in your device, mine doesn’t even get bent round too much and is plugged into a high quality HDMI cable i just think there’s a weak connection somewhere in the unit which inevitably breaks after about a year. the gold plated display port tip as also worn off all of the gold which is kind of to be expected but i’m only plugging it into a 2012 Macbook pro and i’m as careful as possible every time.

I got this for my Surface Pro 4 as it only had mini display port to connect to. It works really well, doesn't drop the quality at all. I don't know if it works the other way, I know some adaptors only work one way.It feels quite premium and has worked reliably for the past 3 or 4 years so I'd recommend it to everyone who needs this.I've bought quite a few cables and adaptors from Rankie and they've all been great***If you found my review helpful please don't forget to mark it as helpful below, thanks!***

I work from home and needed this to connect my Surface Pro (work lap top) to a large monitor on my desk. I also have a MacBook Pro for personal use, so need to connect and disconnect both from the same monitor. The item came complete with a HDMI lead, which I just keep plugged in to the monitor. This connects the Mac then when I want to change to the Surface Pro, I just attach the connector to the HDMI lead and the laptop. It works very well.

Packaging is much, much better than some cables - it's a re-sealable bag.Works exactly as you would expect, plug the mini DisplayPort into your device (I'm using a Surface Pro 4) and connect up your HDMI monitor or TV. On my SP4 the mini DisplayPort doesn't sit flush with the bezel but this doesn't affect it's performance.The picture is an accurate representation of what you get, cable is about 20cm long. Both audio and video work a treat. The cable is a bit stiff so it does kind stick mostly straight out of the side of my SP4 but to be honest, I prefer that to excessive bending at the connection points.

Unlike the previous one of these that I bought, this one does not carry an hdmi audio signal from my Surface Pro 1 to my 2013 LG Smart TV. Disappointing, but fortunately not a disaster. It just means its only good for the PC monitor (which doesn't have audio support) and I can't take it out and about to use with TVs.I have subsequently tried it with the TV and my Macbook (Mid 2010), and audio does work from that with the TV, so that gains this review an extra star. But it still does't do exactly what I bought it for.
