Great trainers waterproof look nice and so comfortable

Just finished the West Highland Way in these shoes. They were perfect - grippy, comfortable, and totally waterproof until I overtopped them crossing a stream. I then combined them with waterproof sealskin socks and my feet stayed bone dry with no blisters for the following 4 days. Very happy with my purchase. Glad that I sized up a size.

Great waterproof shoes. Size up half size if you have wider feet. I walk miles in these everyday and my feet are dry and comfortable. I have the most awkward feet to buy shoes for and these fit straight away!

I bought these shoes as I needed a new pair of trail shoes and Speedcross came highly recommended by other runners. The fit is perfect for my extremely narrow feet. People with wide feet beware, they might not be for you. I wasn't sure whether I required and 8 or an 8.5, so ordered both to compare. The larger size was better, the smaller was too short in length. First of all, the positives: the shoes seem well made and feel comfortable on. They are secure at the heel and the quick lace system is easily adjustable. The top of the shoe is well padded and the reinforced front of the shoe looks and feels as if it will offer sufficient protection. The only negative I've discovered so far is that the goretex lining seems to be stitched together poorly at the seams. Just very widely spaced zigzag stitches where fabric meets fabric which results in some unsightly fraying and that's even before wearing the shoes. I think it may also affect the waterproofing? But my biggest concern is the actual model name and my questioning whether this is a "real" Salomon shoe or a counterfeit product. The shoes are just called "Speedcross GTX" not Speed cross 5 or 6 etc. This is also what is written on the box (the box looks genuine by the way) and the attached label. The shoes seem to be a mixture of the speedcross 5 and 6. They have the shape, sole and look of the 5s, but the fully attached lace loops and the black insoles of the 6s. After extensive searches typing in barcodes and article numbers, the only place that seem to sell this Speedcross GTX model is amazon, I could not find a link to Salomon's website or other Salomon stockists. I had no reason to think that these shoes were fake given that they are listed on amazon's official Salomon storefront, and they also seem of great quality and fit. This problem seems to be the case with most of the listings on the Salomon storefront at amazon, both in the men's and women's as well as in the goretex and non goretex models, there seem to be speedcross models without a number, with model numbers and untypical colourways that are not on the official website. I am also confused about the production date. The shoe was manufactured in 2024, when Salomon, as far as I know, had already discontinued the Speedcross 5. I have contacted Salomon for comment and they said this website is not affiliated and they would involve their legal team. I have since also contacted amazon via chat and they told me they would look into it too, but I have not heard anything back.

Very disappointing, after just nine months of normal usage the plastic studs start to wear down and go flat, creating an imbalance, and the trainer becomes very uncomfortable, also feet likely to sweat a lot.

Sent me the wrong size. Nice trainers but a whole load of inconvenience due to being sent incorrect size. Expected to pay postage to return

Geniale Passform für schmale Füße, extrem gute Federung, jetzt auch noch mit Goretex Ausstattung. Ein Traum. Der Schuh sitzt wie angegossen, eigentlich will ich sie gar nicht mehr ausziehen. Es ist mein drittes Paar von Salomon Speedcross-Schuhen. Eine Größe mehr bestellen.

I tried countless hiking shoes and ended up with these. They were the most comfortable of all the versions I tried. My only negative would that it is high in the heel and as an already tall person I don't need the additional height. Also I worry whether I may turn my ankle wearing it but hopefully that won't happen. If you are short this can give you an extra 1-2 inches in height.

These fit me great and are very versatile as a travel shoe. I took them on a winter trip to Japan and found them to be attractive enough for "less sporty" looks on days when I was walking for hours in urban environments and were great as expected for hiking in mossy and frosty forests. The easy on-and-off speed lacing really came in handy at shrines, ryokan, and other no-shoe locations. My typical day on this trip involved 8-12 miles of walking, and these offered great support and comfort. I would definitely buy again.
