This tinciture is fast acting and INSTANTLY calms me down. It's a great value an the taste isn't bad. The only tiniture brand I'll EVER use.

I was prescribed this extract by my doctor to see if it helped with my hot flashes that were completely out of control. Within 2 weeks of twice daily usage they disappeared, yippee! As a side bonus, with continued use, it also seems to have taken care of heart palpitations I used to get around 3 am.m, upon waking and randomly during the day. My doc doesnt seem to think this is a normal response, but I will take it! I used 2 droppers 2x daily to have this effect, and the 4 oz bottle lasts me about a month at this dosage. Unfortunately I did not have as good luck with it helping my insomnia. I use 2 droppers ? ~40 drops at bedtime. Maybe more would show a benefit. As a side note, the extract works much better for me than taking capsules, even if I take the capsules apart and take the powder in some water. UPDATE Dec2014 - I found if I take 6 droppers half full at bedtime it works great on my insomnia. I just tried Gaia phyto-gels caps Gaia Herbs Passion Flower Liquid Phyto-Capsules, 60 Count and am up to 3 at night with no success/sleepiness, so I may need to switch back to the HerbPharma liquid here.

What I like best about their brand is that they offer standardized tinctures, which means you're always getting the same dosage every time you buy a bottle. I bought the passionflower for relaxing. It's easy on the body, and I know each time I take it I'm getting the same dosage. While everything they sell is all natural, make sure you do your research. These are medicines, and should be treated as such.

The jury is still out on whether this helps relieve anxiety and insomnia. The taste is horrible, however, I could deal with this if it relieved my insomnia.

But I have to consider my age, physical condition, and medications. I have been taking this for about 2 months. There is no denying that it works and works well not only for sleep but for treating Anxiety. However I started suffering from extreme cramps both in my upper torso then my legs and feet. These were so bad I really have nothing to compare them with. Since cramps already were common to me it took time for me to realize the frequency and intensity was directly related to the Passion Flower. Nothing I read addresses this so since this has been used for centuries it must be my own situation. The recommended dose as per the info websites is no more than 25 drops per day and I used 5 to 18 in my Diet Drink before bed. As I have stated it took time before I had any issues. .

I have been taking this stuff daily ever since I bought it about a month ago. What I can say is the taste isn't for everyone (it's earthy, but that doesn't bother me.) I place a dropper-full under my tongue and let it sit there for a while. It burns a little but not too much. I find that it absorbs into my system better. I find that this stuff works great to treat anxiety and stress at the source, and right away. I will keep using herbal tinctures for my health.
