Tiki Retreat Bug House & Magnifier

This has been my daughters bug house for roly polys, praying mantis, butterflies, moths, caterpillars, worms, ladybugs and milk bugs. Overall it has held up to a lot of wear and tear and despite being dropped multiple times it has not cracked. It has adequate air vents in the top, but the holes aren’t too large to let small bugs escape. The lid also screws off for easy cleaning. The furniture inside is attached and super cute as the bugs can lounge on it. The clear plastic that surrounds it is not as thick as I’d like as it does dent if pushed on too hard. It can be popped back into place though. I would definitely recommend this for kids who love to catch and care for bugs of their own.

I was surprised to find how large this thing actually was. It's been my child's favorite thing since he got it and honestly, I'm tempted to get another for myself. The done part is kinda thin and will bow/dent, but it's very sturdy overall. Super cute and could make an adorable enclosure for a jumping spider or something with the right adjustments.

My kids and I love this. Son is keeping his bug in it right now. The look of it is so cute. Our bug is currently chilling in the beach chair and kids think it’s so funny. We already lost the magnifying glass after a week 🙄 and i wish the handle on it was a bit bigger. But it’s good quality and fun so I am still giving it 5 stars! Will definitely buy some as birthday gifts for cousins/friends.

Okay this bug thing is actually very big which i was not expecting. But my toddler loves it! He can open the top and it’s super fun for him to add his little Rollie pollie friends. My other toddler has dropped it multiple times and it hasn’t broken so that’s a major plus.

My 2 and 4 year old have enjoyed this bug house quite a bit. They love that the bugs can "sit" in the chair, or "climb" the tree, or "swim" in the water. The magnifying glass is pretty dinky and doesn't really work great, but it's fine for my kids. The handle on the bug house is super awesome for the kids. We have found that when it is in the upright position there's a hole that allows smaller bugs to escape. My kids have filled this with water, and it has held up. Nothing has faded or scratched off. The one issue we've had with the house is that the clear plastic scuffs pretty easily; I included a picture to illustrate. To be fair, my kids have rolled it on the ground while looking for the bugs inside, so it's not entirely the house's fault. The plastic is, however, super durable in that its got some flex and give to it that helps prevent holes or punctures. Overall, this is a great outdoor toy for kids that adds some fun to the traditional bug catching. UPDATE: - A year and a half later and my kids STILL love this product. Furthermore, they have been incredibly rough with it: filling it with sand, tossing it around, filling it with rocks, you name it! It has held up super well. The plastic exterior has a handful of scratches (which still don't impede seeing the bugs inside), but no cracks whatsoever. This has been a nice addition to our outdoor toys.

Okay, this is the cutest thing ever. I got two, one for my 2 year old and one for my 4 year old. If you have bug lovers this would make a good gift. They are pretty dang durable too, they’ve been thrown and tossed without any cracks.

This item is great. Bigger than I expected. Very cool for the critter lovers.... but whoever ships these things could do a much better job. They come just like you see them, so I was surprised when the first two were shipped loose inside a big box. They were fine. They are pretty rugged. But today I got one in a shipping bag, loose with other items and there must have been some rough transit because it's crushed on two sides... just like my hopes of gifting it.

うちの大人たちは虫が嫌いですが、子供は恐怖心がなく特に蝶が大好きです。 早速公園で蝶を捕まえてきて中に入れていました。 椰子の木やベッドなど面白いものが置かれているので、虫嫌いな大人でも楽しくてつい見てしまいます。 壁の部分が透明になっていることによって観察をしやすいと言う利点があり、また中の様々なものに止まることで、何かを掴んだり止まったりしたときの脚の動きなどを見ることができ、研究や学習の視点からも非常によくできたものだと思います。

Jag gav bort den till en 4-åring och hade redan förberett med lite insekter för att väcka nyfikenhet. Det blev mer intressant än alla andra leksaker han fick. Jag tror det är ett bra sätt att väcka nyfikenhet för naturen och en bra kontrast till alla leksaker som barn snabbt tröttnar på.

Cute! Much bigger than expected. Fun for children to catch inspects & watch them in their habitat. Not sure the bugs would give a 5 star review but that’s down to the hotel manager ;) overpriced but I still ought it for the novelty factor as a gift
