Works very well, pleased with this product. Installation was simple. Measured electrical draw for instant hot water was 12 amps for about 2 seconds before dropping, so a dedicated 15 amp circuit as recommended by the installation manual is required. Water temp is perfect, never a starting cold spurt. Jet pressure is completely suitable for the cleaning task. If you are looking for an enema function, you may be disappointed. The only negative we found was that the flashing night light during the sanitization process can be intrusive if you forget to close the bathroom door.

I thought I might be a bit insane for spending this much on a toilet seat, but it has been totally worth it. There are much cheaper models out there, but I already had a Kohler Highline Classic toilet (in white) that I really like, so I figured another Kohler product on top of that would be a good decision. The reviews were good, the price was high (but no where near the MSRP thankfully), but it worked out. Installation was pretty simple as far as attachment to the toilet. Their recommended placement of the electrical outlet seems odd based on how long the power cord is. It would have been a lot more work to put my outlet on the left side, but thankfully I did not have to. The cord was more than long enough to reach under the bowl, over to the right side. I was able to extend power from a convenience outlet almost directly above. If it had been placed on the left, I don't know what I would have done with all the excess cord. I think my install looks very clean and professional. The remote control looks very nice, but the wall mount mechanism seems very loose. The part attached to the wall is secure, but when you slide the dock down on it, there is too much play. There is nothing you can do about it really. I would have preferred through-holes and some caps to cover the screws. It does appear to come with a bracket for use on ceramic walls, but there is no mention of how to use it in the manual. Speaking of the manuals, they are sufficient, but I think the user's guide could be a bit more explanatory on some of the functions, like how the deodorizer works. The dryer function is an exercise for the patient. Don't expect it to have your bum ready for your underpants any time soon. So far the pulsate and oscillate functions have not "missed" anything, so I am down to just a couple of squares of TP to dry off. This should extend my existing stock of TP many times over. It is nice to get off the toilet and feel clean. Really clean. That alone is worth the price of admission. All the parts look and feel of good quality, so I hope this lasts. There is a chart on the Kohler website that will tell you how they expect the fit and finish to look on their various models of toilets. Mine had only 2 dots (3 is perfect, 1 is not good), which means it will fit fine, but not really match the style of my Highline Classic. I think it looks fine.

Let's talk about service! Ordered on Monday, arrived Tuesday and functional within 15 minutes! Wow! Now the important stuff - features. If you are like me, you like to read everything you can on your tech stuff. The Kohler website and other info was a little vague, so I want to clear some things up here. For background, I recently got back from an Asia trip where I had the pleasure of interacting with the most intelligent Toto bidet/toilet I have ever met. This thing could sense proximity. As you approached, it lightly illuminated, opened the lip automatically, and when you were done it flushed itself!! This Kohler does none of these things, but it a fine machine in its own right. Love - The pressure is good and the water is never cold. The warm seat is VERY nice. The controller is a necessity in my opinion. Don't even bother with the other models that have buttons off to the side. What I don't like - That damn blue light. The light is a UV sanitizing light that doubles as a night light. Er. Check that - Keeps you from sleeping. It is always ON. You can not turn it off. There is no proximity sensing or other smarts here. If it is dark, the light will come on. I have this unit in my master bathroom. The light is intense enough to peek between the seat and lid and is actually quite annoying if you are a fan of pitch black at night. I have other lights that are on motion sensors to see my walkway at night, but this thing is bright enough that I would likely not need them. While I have gotten more used to the blue light in the past few weeks, I still often am forced to shut the door at night so that it does not keep me from sleeping. Big factor for aggravation. Everything else is as expected and simply a pleasure to use.

Aside of some confusing things in the installation instructions the unit has so far worked perfectly. I would only advise Kohler to improve the instructions, and also improve the ease with which the unit slides onto the mounting bracket after being attached to the toilet. This is an UPDATE to my original review: I have had this seat FOR 5 YEARS, and it is still working. Overall I can say that this is a quality product. I personally don't have the criticisms that other people here have. My wife and I are perfectly able to see the panel on the side when we sit down to do our business. But we're both in good shape. We tend to not use the remote that much, but we think the remote is well built. The fan noise does not bother us that much either, it is not as loud as some people say it is. But our toilet does not face our bed. The light at night works like a nightlight. If you leave the toilet seat open it can bother you if your toilet is too close to your bed, but ours is in a separate room. I feel the controls are very nice quality, easy to understand and visible on both the remote and the side panel. Again, all working after 5 years. I really think it is a good product. About toilet fit: toilets come in many sizes (two main sizes, but there is a lot of variation within those two). So my advice is measure and pay attention to the size of the seat you're buying.
