Sound great, installed temporarily without an amp they were pretty quiet and flat (as to be expected, most stock audio systems call for 2ohm speakers with a much higher sensitivity as they are often paper cone). Once you pair them with an amp you’ll really hear the difference, in my opinion it’s not worth replacing your stock speakers (with these at least) without adding an amp of some sort - a lot of wasted value left on the table! Ended up with two of these in the front and two of the coax models from the same S2 lineup in the rear; everything is running off of a Hertz HCP 4D 4 channel amplifier outputting 75W RMS (<1% THD) up to 85W RMS (10% THD) per channel at 4 Ohms. Seems to be the sweet spot for the 80W RMS these speakers are rated for. Running off my stock head unit as it’s heavily integrated with a bunch of the vehicles features. Sound amazing with the Hertz amp, tested with a Pioneer A6704 amp before I switched to the Hertz as I wasn’t satisfied with the volume or sound. The tweeters aren’t too sharp and put out more detailed + cleaner sound than expected from a midrange speaker (keep in mind, it’s all personal reference). Still sound good at high volumes, nice for when you want to listen to your music with the windows down on a highway or something. I previously owned a set of JBL GTO609C’s and I prefer these Alpines mainly due to the higher frequency detail they put out. The JBL’s are for you if you want a slightly more bass heavy sound and don’t want/can’t have a separate subwoofer. The Alpine’s are definitely a little more “sparkly” compared to the Jbl’s “warmer” sound. I’m running two 12” SQ-oriented subs crossed over with these so my main focus was clear and precise mids and highs with some decent punch when needed, wasn’t really worried about the low end. Overall i’m very happy with these speakers, after a week of listening and adjusting things i’m satisfied with the sound and quality of these speakers, I do wish they came with an active crossover for the tweeters instead of a passive one but in the end I don’t feel the need to change them so it’s all good in my books! If you can get them on sale go for it, I doubt you’ll regret getting them especially when compared to some of the other notable mid range speakers in the market right now.

This is absolutely worth getting. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews to decide on these. For those who are replacing stock door speakers in a 2019 to 2023 RAV4 with a stock head unit this is an excellent choice. These speakers are "component'. The mid woofer is separate from the tweeter. So I only used the woofer as I had already replaced my dash speakers with 3 1'2" JBL's, which was another amazing decision. The original stock door speaker did have good bass but it was not as clear nor did they hit as good as the Alpine. The Alpine is a cleaner bass with clearer sound. And once they go through a "break in period" they will sound more amazing. I cannot comment on the performance of the Alpine tweeters but I'm sure they will also perform very well. I did a lot of research to arrive on my decision to get these Alpine component speakers. I also tested several other 6 1/2" coax speakers (Pioneer, Kicker and Kenwood) but they were coax speaker with the tweeter built all into one and they sounded dreadful. They sounded like there was no bass coming from them and too much treble. So I decided to go with the component style. I do not have an amp in my vehicle but just know these speakers are designed for using with or without an amp. This component set does not come with face covers for the woofers. I knew that before I purchased them but I also knew I didn't need the covers. The tweeters come with mounting hardware, foam and wiring. There are instructions, diagrams and a template printed directly on the back of the box itself which is convenient. I love the sound I'm getting now and I'm so glad I got these. I'm really not sure if I want to replace my rear door speakers because everything sounds great now. We'll see.

Let me start off by saying I have been running a set of Alpine R-S65C.2, in the front and a set of Alpine R-S65.2, in the rear with an R type 4 chanel amp for the last 5 years. I have been running these with not problems professional tuned crisp and clear sound. I felt like something was missing with the rear speakers. They sound clear but did not feel the back like the front ones did. So I came to the conclusion that it had to be the coaxial speakers. I try to get an other set of Alpine R-S65C.2, but they are discontinued and if you can find them they want almost double what I paid for them. So I came across these which cost what I had originally paid for the Alpine R-S65C.2, and decided to give them a try. Let me tell you that the Alpine S-S65C.2, can keep up with Alpine R-S65C.2, I can tell a little bit of a difference but that because I have been using Alpine products over 20+ years. They are not as clear as the R-type but the difference is so small that it's not noticeable when they are playing together. They do the job that I was looking for to fill the back with sound just like the ones in the front. Last thing. worked of advice always prioritizing component speakers over coaxial speakers they just fill the car with more sound.
