Hair regrowth for senior women that works!
I am a 77 year old woman who was experiencing thinning hair. My mother had hair loss in her later years to the extent that she had to resort to wigs for nearly 20 years. They were very expensive and troublesome so I was looking for an alternative solution for myself. I read the reviews for this laser therapy and though it was expensive I decided to give it a try. I have been using it for almost a year now and it has worked wonderfully. Though I still lose hair, new hair has grown in to compensate for the loss and my hair feels full again. The only area where my hair is still thin are my bangs and I really don’t mind that. I’ve lost the stress I was feeling over possibly going bald. It is so easy to use. Just a 25 minute session every other day. I sit and do a jigsaw puzzle on my computer and it shuts off automatically when it’s done. I actually look forward to that quiet time to myself. Although it is an expensive purchase it would be far more costly to have to buy new wigs every few months. I hope this continues to work for a long time, but if it does wear out eventually, I will buy another one.

Red light therapy cap during meditation
I've been using the iRestore red light therapy cap for about 2 weeks now and I'm glad I bought it. I'm using it every morning during my meditation, so it doesn't require any extra time for me to use it. It's comfortable and simple to use. Hoping to see some hair regrowth sometime in the future. It does seem to make my meditation session more relaxing, as the red LED lights can stimulate a relaxation response in addition to any possible hair growth effects.

A Massive Waste of Money
I tried shampoos and serums but they take months before you see any results and one day after I got out of the shower I couldn’t believe the amount of hair I found in the drain. I was nervous, especially after consulting with my doctor who couldn’t explain why this was happening based on my lab results. He referred me to a dermatologist and as I anxiously awaited the appointment, I saw this product. It got some pretty good reviews and It was quicker and easier to order this than go the medical route - who knows what that would’ve entailed and how much it could end up costing! I was so excited when it arrived that I cancelled the appointment. It’s very light and comfortable to wear, couldn’t be easier to use and since I ordered the battery pack, I could move about freely. What a horrible disappointment! I never saw any improvement. I convinced myself that if I used it long enough I’d eventually notice a difference. I told myself that maybe it was preventing further hair loss. I just could not admit to myself that this very expensive item didn’t work. I have less hair now than when I started so I’m back on the shampoos and serums as I await my appointment with the dermatologist.

Honest review for those interesting in buying iRestore!
First off, let me say I'm a verified purchaser (purchased on Oct 23, 2019) and I am in no way affiliated with iRestore. I am a guy who has been VERY slowly thinning since my mid-twenties (now 41 years old) and I wanted to provide an honest review of my time with iRestore after 9 months of use for those thinking about buying the device. I was in your shoes 10 months ago and I had decided I would either start shaving my head or look in to hair transplant. Also, I was VERY much a doubter of this working and so was my wife, so forking out $400-500 seemed stupid but the alternative was much more expensive so I figured I would give it a shot. A couple of things to note: - I'm what iRestore considers an ideal candidate since I still some have hair in the areas where I'm balding (in a horse shoe pattern). - My hair is ashy/strawberry blonde, and the area I've been thinning in since my 20's is bright blonde almost like the hair is dying and losing pigment. - My photos from right to left (right being day 1) were taken on 10-25-19, month 6 on 3-30-19, and today 7-26-20 on month 9. A lot of times these photos on reviews are terrible at best and deceiving at worst, so I made sure that my photos were taken after a fresh haircut with the same hair style, from the same angle, no hair product, no flash on the camera, and the same lighting. - I've been using iRestore like recommended, every other day for 9 months with a few 4-5 day breaks in that time due to travel and what not. Now that you have all that info, here are my thoughts on iRestore: Simply put: I think the device is working, but temper your expectations. If you look at the photo (left) on the first day my hair was slightly thinner and bright blonde. By month 6 (middle photo), my hair is slightly filling in, and the first thing both my wife and I noticed when looking at the photos side by side was the hair was getting a little bit darker on the month 6 photo. Not drastically darker, but darker; this tells me the hair growing in is healthier. Now, if you look at month 9 (left photo) the hair is slightly thicker, but it is the same color as the rest of my hair. I think this is a positive sign that there is progress even from 3 months ago. Do I think you should get an iRestore? I think that depends on what you're looking for. If you are in similar shoes to me and you're happy with the progress I have then I would recommend it. If you are farther down the line of thinning to where you are completely bald in some spots then I probably wouldn't recommend it. This isn't something that is going to fix baldness over night, so if you're willing to be patient I think it could work. Like I said before, I was a huge non-believer but I didn't really have many options, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm giving a 4/5 stars for now, but I will adjust that if at the year mark if I see even more hair coming in. I will be following then with a new photo. I hope this helps someone on the fence! Please feel free to respond if you have questions, I would be happy to answer. -Scott

It really works!!
I have tried many remedies to improve my thinning hair over the years. Here is my story that describes what worked and what didn't work for me. Bottom line about the laser cap: it works! - in combination with other treatments, as I will report. I am a female, mid 70s, never had thick hair, but it started thinning severely after menopause. Several years ago, when my hair loss became really noticeable I decided to go for hair transplant surgery. I knew it would take 12 to 18 months for the hair to grow back in, but I got impatient within a couple months and started using minoxidil (5% foam) once a day in the area on top of my head where thinning was worst. After about a year the results were looking pretty good. For several more years I continued using minoxidil, but eventually it was clear I was once again losing hair. Obviously the hair transplant worked initially but did not give permanent improvement, and the minoxidil was not sufficient to prevent hair loss. I lost faith in minoxidil at this point, and switched to the popularly advertised supplement Viviscal. I used Viviscal faithfully for a full year (stopping minoxidil). I saw that my hair loss got much worse over this time. I was seeing severe bald spots on top of my head and was pretty desperate. My conclusion about Viviscal is that it had absolutely no beneficial result in my experience. Based on my experience so far, I concluded that the surgery worked, but the results were not permanent. My underlying condition caused me to still lose hair. I believe minoxidil probably slowed the rate of hair loss somewhat. I reached that conclusion since after I stopped minoxidil completely and switched to Vivisical, the rate of hair loss became much worse. After that year using Viviscal I was pretty desperate and decided to try the laser cap. This was 6 months ago. I stopped Viviscal, went back to using minoxidil same way as before (5% foam once a day), and started using the laser cap as instructed, 25 minutes every other day. I also started taking a biotin supplement (5 mg per day) at the same time. The way I gauge hair loss is by "combing" my wet hair with my fingers every morning and checking how much hair comes out on my fingers. During the Viviscal days, my daily hair loss was significant. Within a few weeks of starting the laser cap/ minoxidil/ biotin hair loss dropped a lot, and within a few months it dropped to virtually zero. I will say that I found the minoxidil led to pretty significant dandruff and scalp itching within about a month's time. I switched to a popular dandruff shampoo and increased my hair-washing frequency to 4-5 times a week. The dandruff & itching came under control pretty quickly and has not been a problem since then. After about 3 months of using the laser cap I started to feel a little fuzziness under my fingertips when I rubbed the top of my head and thought it might be a sign of new hair growth. I started to see gray hairs emerging and had to color my hair a little more quickly than I normally would. But that was a good thing! After 6 months, I am definitely seeing good hair growth on top of my head. Other people, including my doctor, have also commented that my hair is looking better. However – and this is interesting – I realized my hair is quite thin in the upper back of my head, where I was not using minoxidil (even though the laser cap does hit that region). I also notice some other thin hair areas in spots where I was not applying minoxidil. This leads me to believe it is the combination of the laser cap and minoxidil that gives the good result. I am now using minoxidil over a larger area. I hope to see improvements in these other thinning areas over the next several months and will update this review. I feel like there is a farming analogy here – when you are farming you have to first prepare the soil by tilling or aerating or something like that. You also need fertilizer. I see the laser cap as "preparing the soil" and the minoxidil as the "fertilizer". Not sure about the biotin contribution but I continue to use it. I plan to keep using the laser cap indefinitely but probably after I feel I have reached my personal best for hair growth I will cut back on minoxidil. If hair loss starts to become apparent I think I will notice it right away and can increase the minoxidil. One complaint I have about the laser cap is that it does not stay in place during use unless I keep my face pointed slightly downward (which is awkward). If I face forward, the cap tends to slip to the back and fall off unless I hold it in place. There should be a better way of keeping the cap from slipping backward when the user is facing forward. I also have a concern about the power cord. No matter how careful I am with it, the cord forms "kinks" which I have to carefully untwist every time. So far this has not caused a problem but I think that eventually this could be a failure mechanism. I would suggest either a different type of wire that does not kink so easily, or else change the design so the wire can be easily replaced if it becomes necessary. I am very pleased with my hair growth using the laser cap.

An amazing product
I got this item 5 days ago and have started using it immediately. The box looks nice, the item looks nice, both looked like made of quality materials. The item arrived on time also. Since I have just purchased it, I couldn’t say anything about whether it would work or not but I will update it after using it for 3 months. Right now it fits my head perfectly, nothing warm or stinging experienced. I think it will work out well and I hope so. Update: First thank you iRestore for sending me the shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been using the helmet for just 2 weeks and I noticed that it has significantly reduced hair loss for myself and my wife. I wanted to say that this is an amazing product. Even without experiencing any hair growth, I would say it’s a success because you’re not losing hair anymore. Otherwise you would be bald in the future. I would update again when I first noticed the hair growth and if the shampoo and conditioner were helping also, I would strongly recommend the helmet users to use shampoo and conditioner together with the helmet to get the faster and best results. Update on shampoo and conditioner: Excellent products in terms of smell and effectiveness. I have used them for only a week and I’m loving them. You need to follow the instructions strictly or they won’t be as effective as they are supposed to be and you will get disappointed and write a bad review which would not be fair to the seller. Up to date I’m experiencing good results and I’m confident that my hair will grow back to the normal look that I desired. Btw I recommended my sister in law a year ago to use iRestore and her bald spot at the top of her head has hairs growing and she couldn’t thank me enough. Will keep on updating.

Saddened vs Satisfied extremely
It wasn't working but the company extended warranty for a year, It seems as though it was starting, but what happens. It burned out and now does not work. Reached out to irestore about situation before my extended warranty was up and now I do not hear from them. I'm sad, but with hope they will correct this, sense they were kind to give extension. Praying. Update!! Madeline reached out to me with my concerns and I truly appreciated that. I do not like giving scores below 4. So I'm pleased to upgrade IRESTORE to 5 because they not only care about their product but also their customers and to me that is great customer service and the willingness to fix the issues. This is huge for me. Looking forward to getting a replacement cap and extra goodies. I believe this system works when working properly. Thank you Madeine for reaching out with results. I love that IRESTORE stand behind their products in words and action.

Seems promising, but needs side-pressure adjustment method
It remains to be seen if this grows significant hair (it surely varies by person) but I feel like it's worthwhile and will use it for another 6 months, at which point I may raise the review stars. Due to travel* I wasn't able to use it consistently for awhile, but managed a solid 3 months at first (didn't notice results then). I will update this in late 2022. The main design issue is the plastic pressure arms, which are too generic for different head widths, even with smaller foam pads you can get. They could drill holes on each side and add screw-adjusters to reduce pressure on larger heads to prevent temple headaches. Other reviews mention this and it's just a matter of re-engineering. You can do a workaround by attaching cable ties through small slots on each side to hold back the arms, but a one-size-fits-all device should come with pressure relief. The weight of it tends to dent the scalp on the top sides but it's temporary. I'd suggest two more top angled pads to distribute the pressure more evenly. Whether those pads block some light where it's needed is another question (I'm sure they considered all this). An alternate style of helmet uses clear plastic as a standoff, but those may get too hot. I like the mixture of LEDs and lasers, since just lasers seems too intense somehow. The two types are supposed to cause different effects, also. It creates a definite feeling of scalp stimulation, and if that causes actual hair growth it's worth it. You may need to block light spillage down your forehead that causes squinting. *Some people may not want to haul this around when traveling, though it's relatively small. The routine of using it every other day takes more dedication than you may think, especially if you disrupt normal activities or spend a lot of time outdoors. It beats Rogaine hassles and potential finasteride problems, which was my main reason for trying it.
