First I must say customer service is above and beyond the best! I ordered too large of a coat, returned item, reordered next size down, still too large! Returned coat, reordered next size down which fit me perfect!! Coat is very warm! Local gals say looks good! Compared to my old carhart I'd pick this company again! Very comfortable, heavy duty! Don't know how well it will hold up to a downpour haven't had a rain storm yet here in Montana it's usually snow! Pockets are in perfect location if ya need to keep your hands warm! I prefer good gloves but this Jacket has pockets designed to keep you warm if needed. Zipper is quality and easy to use.. hat is great for wind protection but if ya prefer it can be removed also!

I don't often leave Amazon reviews, but I love this coat. 1. It is super warm. I can wear this and a t-shirt and be ok in 35 degree weather. With another layer on underneath this works well even when it's very cold. It also blocks the wind very well. 2. It's strong and durable. I wear in while walking through briar patches and I don't feel a thing, and the jacket isn't worse for the wear. 3. It looks good. 4. It fits well. I'm 6'1 230 lbs and I got the XL tall. I think I could have gone with a XL regular, but I don't mind the extra coverage. Another reviewer criticized the hood but mine works great. 5. The price is incredible. Some things I would like to see to make this even better: 1. Slits with zippers along the side to make easier access to the waist (like some jackets for police have). 2. Waterproofing. 3. I would love if Legendary Whitetails would make matching pants out of the same material.

The review that sold me was "I wasn't sure after reading a couple of reviews but glad I went ahead and pulled the trigger." Copy that. 😉 I'm 5'10" 185 and the large is perfect. As described, True to size for me. Steel zipper. The 3 piece zip on hood is a good size and also has a steel zipper with snaps at each end to keep the zipper zipped, 2 snaps on the cuffs for big or smaller hands. The canvas outer is thick. It has a double breast pocket layered on the left inside. The large deep pocket has a snap and the smaller one over that is good for a cell phone or a spare magazine. Another review said," getting a brown one too. I can see why.

I purchased this as I needed a new coat for winter and as I am a UK 2XL - 3XL (depeneding on the style and cut of the garment) I purchased both a 2XL Tall and a 3XL as I want to be able to wear thicker winter clothes under it. The 2XL Tall is a little small for my needs and it would be okay if I wanted to wear only a shirt but the 3XL is perfect, enough room to wear a thick winter hoodie or jumper, with a little looseness in the jacket to allow free movement. It looks well made using quality cloth, the stiching is very good and the colour (Barley) is exactly like it is in the images on the listing. When I tried this on (UK September 2023) I was warm within just a minute so I have no doubt that this will be a great winter coat. As the outer is cotton canvas (kind of a duck cotton) I do not think it will be rain proof but that is the only downside. This is the quality of Legendary Whitetails of old.

I got this coat for my son. He is normally a medium so that is what I ordered and it fit him perfectly. I was worried it wouldn't be warm enough but he says it's the warmest coat he has had so far. It isn't too thick either so good for every day use. Would recommend. Quality so far is good but we just got it for Christmas and it hasn't been through wear and tear....or washes yet.
