Oat hay- GREAT!; Customer Support- AMAZING!
5 stars all around 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My bunny goes crazy for this Oat hay from SPS. I have always ordered the large sampler box but oat is his favorite! Recently, I placed an order for a 10lb box of oat hay but I received orchard grass instead. I contacted their customer support as soon as it was delivered, and within a few hours, they resolved the issue! They not only shipped out the correct oat hay, but also told me I could donate the orchard grass to a rescue. Their customer service is just as impressive as their products, and I’ll definitely remain a loyal customer.

Top Quality at a Great Price!
We have 2 chinchillas and 3 guinea pigs, but my daughter is allergic to Timothy Hay. So, I started buying Oat Hay for $10/lb, but this was becoming excessively expensive w/such a big herd. With my first order, I was worried about the quality of this brand of Oat Hay because it seemed too good to be true... being able to buy 10 lbs for the price I would have paid for 3.5 lbs. But, I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised. The hay is very fresh and contains more of the little oats that my herd loves so much. There are some tough pieces in it, but this is actually a good thing. It's necessary for our little critters to have some tough stuff to gnaw down their teeth. My herd eats it ALL and LOVES it!!! I will get an even bigger box next time. And, even if you don't HAVE to buy Oat Hay due to something crazy like a family member's allergies, I recommend giving it a try because it's so healthy and you will love watching your little critters go crazy over it. It's a rarity that the thing that is more healthy is also the thing that they love more.

Yellow Old Hay
Now let me say this is my second box from them and the 1st one was amazing it smelled fresh, had good smaller pieces, not so thick and was so green and healthy, not to mention my rabbit loved it, which is why I bought a second box. I am extremely disheartened and disappointed at the quality of this second box. It is yellow and stale. There is no smell to it and all the nutrients for my bunny is gone. This was a complete waste of money and I would have better luck with the bag of oat hay from another company even though it is mostly thick pieces but at least it is green with nutrients. If I could give 0 stars right now I would. I am just so appalled to be honest.

Bun- Approved! Consistently excellent quality.
We have 2 very spoiled Giant Angora Rabbits. Being the 10lb fluff monsters that they are, they go through a ton of hay... We were originally buying another brand of bagged hay from our local farm store, and it was pretty disappointing. It essentially looked like dried clippings from a lawn mower mixed with a good deal of dust. Not surprisingly, one of our girls went on a hay-strike and basically refused to eat it... so we decided to try something new. Small Pet Select’s oat hay is their FAVORITE!!! They especially love the oats. However, we’ve also bought their Timothy hay and orchard grass for variety. All three always arrive just days after being ordered, always fresh, and always long cuttings, and never dusty. Even our picky eater enjoys this stuff. Plus, they have good deals on larger quantities... which is a HUGE bonus when you have multiple jumbo bunnies to feed!

Great Quality Hay!
When transitioning my young rabbit to grass hay, I bought a "variety pack" of Oxbow hay. His favorite of the pack was oat hay, so when it was time to get more hay, I bought 10 pounds of oat hay from Small Pet Select. I am amazed by the quality of this hay! It is much much better than the Oxbow oat hay. The Small Pet Select hay is very fresh and green. It is in LONG pieces, with lots of immature seed heads. My rabbit absolutely loves it. He got very excited when I first offered him a piece, and since then he eats is very enthusiastically. I love the long pieces; they are much less messy than other hays marketed to small pets. Plus, they keep him busy chewing. I will absolutely repurchase.

Decent overall
Pros: -Fresh, good quality -The leaves are green, my picky senior rabbit really enjoys it Cons: - The strands are too long. You'd have to cut it before trying to take out of the box, otherwise it'll be a huge mess - There are too many oat groats. Rabbits can eat them, but as a treat, so you'll have to separate the flowers to adjust their portion - The leaf to stem ratio isn't worth the price point. This oat hay is very long, you can get a strand that's >2ft long, and from that you'll have 1-2 leafs totaling about 1ft. If your rabbit eats the stem, then this point shouldn't be any concern to you but my rabbit eats leaves only. So technically, the half of the whole box is unusable, and since i separate the majority of oat groats, I end up throwing them away as well. I end up paying $35 for the box but have to throw away 2/3 of it which isn't a good value. To sum up, if your rabbit eats the stem and you are okay cutting the long strands and separating excess oat flowers (rabbits can have them, but in small quantities as a snack), this will be a great hay choice for you. It's fresh and a very good quality. If your rabbit eats only green leaves, then be aware you'll throw away a half to 2/3 of the whole box because of long stems (straw). If I could give a suggestion to SPS, maybe it'll be worth it to cut the oat hay earlier in a season. This way there will be less flowers, shorter stem and more leaves.

Staple for a happy, full, and healthy bunno!
My bun LOVES this crunchy hay, especially the extra seed heads! He eats it like there's no tomorrow. Pros: - Smells and tastes crisp. I've used Oat Hay from Oxbow and The Vikings but this is definitely superior quality. - Plenty of seeds heads for crunch, flavor, and variety of taste. - Bang for your buck! It is the most affordable high quality hay for its size. - Promotes healthy hay intake. - Yields GOLDEN POOP! Cons: - Packaging could be more efficient and clean. Maybe use a slightly bigger box.

Really great quality hay, smells nice and looks fresh and great, the strands are a good length although it does have a fair bit of dust left in the bottom of the box, when on sale the value is brilliant although full price is a tad pricey.

I really do love your hay as does my bunny so it sucks to write this but this is my second box that I had to throw away because it was filled almost entirely with a very thorny bush. I just spent an hour trying to salvage what hay I could and am now covered in thorns. The first time I thought it was a fluke and figured that’s the risk you take and my rabbit is obsessed with your oat hay so I ordered another box but this is the second time and I am well and truly covered in thorns and scratches and I just had to throw out my clothes. Maybe I just got some crappy luck and your hay has been awesome up until this point but I don’t think my sensory issues can take the chance of having to deal with another bout of thorns.

I will add a picture if need be, but ----<<<THEY DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS AND OR RETURNS BE CAREFUL>>>>--- customer service warning, my almost 100$ box came infested with bugs, thank god i did not take it inside, i had to clean my whole mud room to make sure the infestation did not spread. The box came very dirty and damaged, the box was <NOT SEALED> and bugs got in and made it into a perfect home. I made the horrible mistake of not checking the return policy, and some of the user reviews were decent. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WOULD RECOMMEND NOT TAKING THE CHANCE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
