I truly love Molly's personality 😂; she's unique, funny and I feel that we are alike in many ways. That's one of the reasons why I give this book a 4 stars, more than what I gave to the first one! Also, this sequel has made me warm to Gran's life, although the throwbacks have sometimes been slow and tedious. Beyond the few and slight plot twists, I have liked the story for its characters more than for its plot. And this isn't an easy thing to do. I will definitely read the other two books of this “saga” although we will have to wait several months.

Eager to read this second novel about Molly, I found it over- descriptive, drawn in repetitions, a bit naive as if the author addressed schoolchildren or mentally disabled adults. Considering myself not ( at least entirely!!) disabled, I dropped it.

If this were the translation of a japanese novel it would be hailed as a sublimely understated masterpiece.It isn't.Japanese that is.It is a little masterpiece though!

Wie die Autorin schon im Nachwort sagt, das 2. Buch ist schwieriger als das erste, das war hier auch der Fall. Ich habe anfangs gekämpft, die Zeitsprünge waren nicht einfach und wirkten etwas konstruiert, auch gab es einige Patzer mit Lye und Acid, die "Dosis" Probleme haben sich dann gegen Ende gelöst. Für das Buch braucht man Zeit, um sich wirklich vertiefen zu können. Am Schluss hat sich alles gut gelöst, mit einem Twist. 4.8 Sterne und doch gut gelungen.
