This has been a very good replacement for our old Scottsman ice maker. It has good capacity and makes a batch of ice about every 12 minutes. Our old one used to take 20. It also costs about a third the price of our old one. It's only been in a few months, so time will tell on the reliability. Great so far.

I’m generally satisfied with VEVOR products but this one is just awful. First, right out of the box there were scratches everywhere. The box was undamaged so the scratches didn’t come from shipping. It was packaged well, that’s the only positive. The paint on the outer panels is odd. It feels like that plastic protective film but there’s no film and it just makes more scratches when you try to remove the non-existent film. When I went to install it, I noticed that inside of the bin, the ice tray that freezes the water was crooked. Doing some digging, I found that there are four set screws holding it to the back panel and none were holding it in place. Two were missing even. I was able to squeeze my hand down into the water tray and found one of the missing screws that was stripped out. It didn’t rattle out, it was completely stripped and whoever assembled it just didn’t care. I found the second screw lodged in the drain at the bottom of the bin. To get it out, I needed to access the drain behind the rear panel. Upon removing the rear panel, I found that the drain WASN’T EVEN CONNECTED! This would have caused flooding because this is not an ice storage bin, it’s a collection bin, and the ice melts because there’s no refrigeration in the machine. Next, the copper lines going to the freeze tray were very small but the holes into the machine were very large….for some reason, they have some sort of washer or cover plate to go over the holes but they weren’t sealed or glued to the back panel at all so outside air can go in and out much easier, causing any ice (if it actually works) to melt much quicker. Lastly, the water line connections are not standard. I tried three different brass connectors to get this thing to connect and I finally just gave up because of all the issues I’ve had with it. I was able to get water into the machine but it was spraying everywhere like a water park. What I’ve learned is that these inexpensive machines are all poor quality and you just have to get a real name brand commercial machine to get the results you’re expecting.

Works great! I need tons of ice for SxS riding, parties, and brewing beer and this thing makes it fast! I have a giant chest freezer that can hold up to fifteen 16 lb bags so it is always full. It has paid for itself at least 3 or 4 times now with the amount of ice I have made. And my neighbors, friends, and family love it. Whenever I head over to someone's place, I am the ice man!

My husband has wanted an ice machine for years and I wish we would have bought this years ago. We have got our money worth in the few months we’ve had it, we use it all the time! The ice is perfect size and tastes great and the machine isn’t too big so it’s not in the way but it holds a lot of ice and fills up fast! We had one issue with it throwing a code once and wouldn’t work but we just unplugged it and plugged it back in and it’s been great!!

One of the best Amazon purchases I've ever made. I've been wanting an ice maker for a few years now. I finally decided to pull the trigger on this. I'm already familiar with the Vevor brand as I have several of their appliances already. The ice maker is great. If I'm having a party or if I just need ice, I put it on and within an hour or so, the storage bin is full. I bought some 8 lb ice bag so I can keep 3-4 bags in the garage freezer for the ready at all times. Hook up was very easy. I purches some water line, fittings and a water filter (all available on Amazon) and ran the line into my garage. I have a stucco garage, so the hardest part was drilling the water line hole and drain hole. But with the proper tools, it really wasn't too bad. Overall, this was a win for me. I'll never have to go run and get ice again. 100% worth it!

Updated again. Seller takes over 72 hours to recommend a solution and then it is not successful. Was supposed to send a new silenoid and sent a ice full switch instead. Was able to get it working without their help but it once again has died and I can't get anything more than an automated email from them. At first I thought this was a value but after a week, it stopped dropping ice. I followed all the limited troubleshooting and everything checked out. Put the ice as thin as it could be and it worked again for about an hour but then froze up again. Only way to contact vevor is email or chat. I did both but chat just directed me to email and said I'd hear back in 24/48 hours. So right now a 1 star and we'll see how we'll customer service does. Another day and no response. A new machine that doesn't work and no communication from the vendor. Finally heard back day 5. They're are shipping a part from China. Said I should get the tracking number in 10 to 15 days. Lesson learned about Vevor. I would assume most companies would just replace the whole unit and then refurbish the return. And to boot, looks like I will need to install the part myself. Amazon shows a return option. Might have to check that out. Just not looking forward to trying to box the machine up.

I've used this every day for several months now. Flawless, so far. I empty it every morning for work and it's full when I get home. It has saved me $3-4 dollars a day. I no longer buy bags of ice. UPDATE: It has made ice reliably for a year now. Very happy with it. Ice is never a concern now, I know it's always there when I need it. Peace of mind and no more trips to the store for ice. So worth it. I very highly recommend.
