Excellent Electric Mower
I was fortunate enough to have been able to purchase this mower with 6-amp hour and 4-amp hour batteries include. Also included in the package was a rapid charger. That particular package, on sale, was a great value. The rapid charger was a huge plus as it does a very nice job of charging the batteries quickly. The charger continues to run a cooling fan after the battery is charged but does not overcharge the battery so it can be left unattended on the shop bench. The description highlights a few things: UP TO 80 MINUTES OF RUNTIME - Get up to 80 minutes of runtime on a single charge from this battery lawnmower with the included 56V 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah batteries; compatible with all EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries. This description is accurate enough... but I thought I would share my experience with you. UP TO 80 minutes of runtime applies to the use of both batteries with no load on the motor. It is important to understand that the batteries can't last that long under working loads. The length and thickness of the grass adds resistance/load to the blade's rotation. The self-propelled drive train is also a load that varies with the thickness and height of the turf. I fully charged the batteries before mowing my yard. The yard really needed to be mowed so I didn't set the deck very low. I used the #4 setting. The 6Ah battery ran strong for forty minutes before stopping dead. Fortunately, the 4Ah battery was also fully charged and I was able to finish the yard with power to spare. My yard is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. so the 6Ah battery may well be all you need for a smaller yard. The second battery is nice to have and compatible with their edgers and string trimmers so that is a plus. EXCEEDS POWER OF GAS - This is my first electric mower. I have used gas powered mowers for sixty years. A sharp blade makes a significant difference. To keep things fare I sharpened the Ego blade before beginning. It had a decent edge on it from the factory, so it really didn't need very much attention. I mulch my grass so that plays a role as well. I can't say that the Ego blade does as nice a job as a sharp power mower mulching blade. My power mower blade had high and low sharp edges and wing tips to lift the clippings. The Ego blade has wing tips but only the lower blade edge is sharp, but the Ego blade did a very nice job of cutting and mulching. I am happy with the performance, but the grass isn't quite as even as my old power mower left it. The motor didn't seem to slow down under load or in gear. Torque seems constant right up until the battery gives out. TOUCH DRIVE SELF-PROPELLED TECHNOLOGY - Works well. I couldn't find an ideal speed for myself though. One click up from what seemed just a little too slow was just a little too fast. That isn't a big deal. A little slower does a better job of mulching grass anyhow. The size of the mower is great for the average yard. A 21" width of cut works for me. The handle is collapse able and the mower can be stood up on end to save space in the garage. That is a plus. That also makes it easy to clean out clippings under the deck.

Begrudgingly love this thing…
I love my gas tools but after switching to electric chain saws and weed eaters I planted several fruit trees too close to my front fence to get my zero turn between and my old gas push mower refused to start so I pulled the trigger on this thing assuming it would be “good enough” but wow this thing is impressive! It is large and sturdy but weighs almost nothing with tons of power in the blade motor as well as the wheel drive motors. The forward speed controller is super easy to adjust on the fly to speed up in rows and slow down around obstacles but it’s so light I find myself effortlessly pushing it often. The baggger catches basically every leaf and blade of grass which I toss in the chicken shed “which they seem to appreciate” and it’s about as loud as a large box fan. The batteries don’t last as long as I had thought they would but probably around 45 minutes each which is perfect for my needs but as they wear down that may become cumbersome. All in all for $600 I have no complaints. This thing is fun and very very handy. Considering that a comparable gas machine is twice the weight, three times as loud, only slightly cheaper and generally require a fair bit of regular maintenance I don’t see myself owning another mower unless this thing spontaneously disassembles itself which so far doesn’t seem likely. Solid buy

Mower performs well and battery charge as long as expected.
Great battery powered mower, cuts for 45 minutes on the 6ah battery and 30 minutes in the 4ah on regular height dry grass. Very quiet yet powerful and self propel works great as getting older means walking slower. It can be changed form fast to slow and works with a press of a button. The only complaint so far is the cutting height. While I know that the lowest setting is the recommended cut height for most lawns, I like my grass a bit shorter and there is no way to get it to that height with this mower. My Honda gasoline mower does cut much lower. Really not a complaint but a personal preference. So that’s the reason I give it a 4 star instead of 5. But I will continue to use it as it’s a pleasure cutting grass with a quiet smooth running mower.

Never Thought I'd Be Saying This.....
I LOVE this mower. I had an issue with my gas mower. Pulled & pulled & pulled to no avail. I hurt my shoulder and it was getting worse just attempting to cut grass because of the dreaded PULL. So I got the husband out there to give it a try. After 5 minutes, he went inside and ordered this for me, LOL. I wasn't 100% sold on electric but I'm getting older and felt this was the better decision long term. To my surprise, this mower is awesome for so many reasons, especially for those of us getting older. PROS: - Starts without pulling your should out. Press of a button! - Lightweight & easy to maneuver - Folds up like a stroller for easy storage/compact - Easy to lift & clean after each mow when keeping in the garage - No smell of GAS in your garage since it's electric - Speed control options on walk-behind - No more storing gas cans for the mower in the garage, stinking up the place 24/7 - Battery life seems really good. Keep in mind, my yard is really easy Centipede type in the South so not thick & not a lot of landscape issues to contend with. CONS: - Not good at mulching or running over pinecones, etc - Probably not recommended for massive yards due to battery length (my smaller yard is fine but FYI if you have a big yard) - The handle has 2 length settings (storing & mowing). Unfortunately, it doesn't appear you can use the shorter length because the engine won't start, weird. It starts with the handle at full extension, so I just use it like that (which is a little long but happy to make it work just because I love it so much). Bottom Line: I personally love it for reasons many may not be concerned with. Give it a try, I think it will surprise you. It did me!
