Surprisingly good quality.
I bought these to replace my stock wheels that were on my Trek 1000 SL. I decided on these since I can no longer get Mavic cosmic elite that will fit this bike. It turns out that these ZTZ wheels are lighter and out-perform the Mavics on my wife's Trek 1000 Alpha.

Good Wheels; Company Stands By Their Product
[This review is amended following a very positive experience with the company behind the the product] These wheels are good wheels overall. Lightweight, reasonably true out of the box, and stylish, these wheels are good for a road bike. The steel rims seem sturdy. I had one major issue with the rear hub after a few months, technically outside the refund window. Despite this, the company reached out to me and replaced my entire rear wheel (not just the hub) for me. They even ensured that shipment was quick. This sort of support was not expected but greatly appreciated. They turned something frustrating into a good experience. A final note about the wheels: the aesthetics are really good, especially for simple metal wheels. Keep them clean and shiny and they will greatly enhance the look of any bike.

Lightweight, tough, and affordable.
I commute on these wheels, and that is some pretty rough terrain on pavement in the central Texas area. These are lightweight and durable at an affordable price. I am pleasantly surprised, considering the price, at how well they have held up and stayed true in the rough terrain. I have about 2,000 miles on them as I do 50 mile round trip once a 50-mile round-trip commute on this bike to work.

Bad rim tape, difficult tire installation.
Two problems with these wheels: First the rim tape is plastic and not strong enough. 30 miles into my first ride I got a flat tire caused by the inner tube pressure pushing through the tape, splitting it and then abrading on the side of the spoke hole. This left me freezing on the side of the road yesterday for 20 minutes while I cobbled together a fix that covered the exposed spoke hole well enough to make it home. You can make out the split in the tape at the spoke hole in the picture I've included. Second problem is the channel that the tire sits in is too shallow and this makes tire installation difficult. Initially, I was barely able to get a Continental GP5000 tire installed that installed quite easily on the previous wheel I was using. Then things got worse. Once I replaced the flimsy plastic rim tape with thicker cloth backed rim tape, installation became significantly more difficult. After 30 minutes of fighting and using every trick in the book including lubing the bead with soapy water I was able to get the tire on. However I now have a wheel that I have no chance of fixing if I get a flat on the road. I can't risk being stranded with a flat, so this makes the wheel unusable for me. I'm out $100 and I've lost a bunch of time. These two issues are huge, and for me they are a deal breaker. However, aside from this the wheel seems to be high quality -- spoke tension was good, finish was good, freewheel was smooth, etc.. If the rim web was located 1-2mm lower and high quality rim tape were used this wheel would have been an amazing value.

Light affordable wheel set
Well made, light, good value. This was a better option than the rebuilding of my rear wheel. Huh

So far so good...
The wheels came true out of the box! First 20 mile ride on these wheels this morning, no problems. Spoke gauge is heavier than my previous wheel set. That's good because I'm a heavier rider. I only gave it four stars because only time will tell if they will last. So far, it looks promising. I will update in a few months.

Great value
Nice wheel. Is true. It is a little narrower than my old one and that makes tire mounting a little more of a challenge.
