Wonderful laptop
Though the delivery took some extra time due to some issues with the customs clearance, it arrived a whole week earlier than expected. The laptop itself works like a charm out of the box. Lightning, screen, audio, touchpad; everything works as it should. First thing I usually do is check every component just to see if I received what I bought, and all is as it should. I nevertheless updated the bios as I had read the cpu hanging at turboboost all the time without any load and increasing the temperature to dangerous levels. After the bios update I cannot see anything of the sort as it hangs at around 45°C without load. In addition to that I undervolted the cpu, so that may have some effect on it too. I've yet to check the workings of the GTX 1060, but I'll update as soon as I get to test it on some games. The only thing I dread is that it is a fingerprint magnet beyond what I expected. Every little bit of body oil or sweat will leave a smudge on it. If you're special about that you may want to reconsider. Though I hate that, I cannot remove a star based on something so insignificant. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. Edit: Ok, I've played some games on it (Dragon Quest XI, Valkyria Chronicles 4) and there's been no problem with it working as it should, never getting the GPU above 70°C (though the cooling pad may be helping there). Nevertheless, the computer really does get hot. While the touchpad and palm rest just get warm, as you go above the middle of the keyboard, it increases a lot. On the top right where the charger connects, being the hottest, you could burn, not cook, an egg. While I'm comfortable with the CPU and GPU temperatures as they're below dangerous levels, the surface temperature is another thing. I game with a controller, so it isn't much of an issue, but if you use the keyboard to game, be warned.

Good Laptop, Despite A Few Flaws
So I've had the laptop for a few months. Overall, it's good! Pros -really specs good for the price point -monitor quality is really nice -relatively light weight for a gaming laptop Cons -USB ports are VERY fragile. (A lot more fragile than I'm used to) -constantly runs hot, and i mean CONSTANTLY -only 3 USB ports -some excess bloatware from launch -no integrated Intel graphics (this is only a con with specific games)

Amazing laptop!
Definitely a nice laptop. Couple of cons: 1. This sucker is big, bulky, and heavy. It is advertised as such, so I was expecting it, and it’s a gaming laptop, so again, expected, but still. 2. Fans do get pretty noisy. The definitely do their job, no doubt, but they will get loud on occasion even during normal/minimal use. 3. The no glare screen does still suffer from glare, but honestly, I don’t think that’s ever avoidable unless one uses blackout curtains. This screen is definitely better than most, but this still is glare. Many, MANY pros to this laptop, I could go on all day. This thing is amazing. No doubt about that. Any problems I have with it, as I explained, are either expected, or where accurately described in the description, so all things considered, this thing is great. Really can’t ask for more.

Oh wow, HP makes terrible printers, AND gaming laptops? *is shocked*
I'm far from a competitive gamer. I just play some single player games from years past, nothing taxing on modern GPUs and chips, or so I thought... Computer started booting much slower a few weeks back, despite having an SSD as the boot drive. I thought maybe it had something to do with recent Windows updates or something. Then out of the blue, the computer quits booting all together. The red power button flashes every couple seconds non stop, and that's it. Tried scouring the internet for possible solutions to my problem. Most I could find was to hard reset the laptop by holding the power button for 12 seconds or something. Didn't help. If that didn't work, most guides had someone from HP support recommending the user reach out to HP to possibly send it in for repairs, as the problem was most likely hardware related. I clicked on one of those links to contact support. Entered my computers info, and was given nothing on how to send the laptop into HP. Instead, I was given the name of an authorized HP repair shop in my area. I called and set up a time to drop it off, and just got word that they can't fix it. It's the motherboard, something wrong with it and they can't source parts for my laptop. Great! I know have a gently used piece of junk that spent 96% of it's life on my desk, on a elevated cooling pad, where it still managed to overheat and fry itself! Trust me, this laptop ran incredibly hot its entire life. The Omen software has temp specs, and the laptop would always teeter on the dangerous levels of temps when playing virtually any game.. Oh and the fans are incredibly loud considering they are trash at keeping the CPU/GPU cool... I know my next pc is going to be a desktop. No more "gaming" laptops, and especially not supporting HP anymore. I've gone through so many printers that just decide to up and fail, you'd think I learned my lesson and avoided an HP laptop. Lesson learned, finally..

HPs suck!
I have had several computers. This one is by far worse than the ASUS and Toshiba that I had. For several months is kept freezing up and claiming hardware issues. It unexpectedly stopped. The charger has not held up at all. I am pretty rough on laptops and have been gentle with this one and it has had its fair share of issues. I bought my son and HP and the keys are falling off of it. Not impressed with HP at all.

Great performance but sub-par battery
Great performance, but had the battery bulge after 18 months of light use. Replaced the battery for a non-original one (why would I buy an original one knowing they are bad quality?) and now BIOS shows a warning on each boot.

Awesome!!
This is my first gaming laptop i wanted to buy dell G7 but I avoided it because of the heat issues. The package arrived on time safely, I really liked it from my first look. 1 the windows starts in seconds. 2 it can run all games in ultra 3 battery life is good about 4 hours playing. 4 the cooling system works very very well after updating the bois. At first i found it hard to install cracked games but after I disabled the anti virus everything worked well The screen looks bigger then I thought its amazing with tiny bezels. I highly recommend it

Great deal!
The laptop is great. It's very fast and plays games at ultra without any hiccups. The fans do get a little loud. Only problem is the right speaker isn't as loud as the left one. It's like half as loud. But I'm sure that's only for my device.
