I can't speak to the longevity yet, but especially in the era of less-than-well-crafted thorogoods, these are a welcome departure. I'm a mason and have pretty much given up on any brands outside of thorogood as nothing else seems to last 3 months, let alone a whole season (which is what I can typically expect out of a pair of American heritage or 1957 series boots before they need resoled). That is, until my last pair--footbed and midsole wearing before sole, stitching coming out within 2 weeks, leather cracking even where it's covered by pants (and always well maintained with saddle soap and oil--that made me vow to only try one more pair of thorogoods. Thankfully this pair fit like my first pair. The stitching is clearly done by a human hand but impressive. I again feel the craftsmanship in every step. Nearly zero break in from a company I've come to expect month-long torture to get the boot to even feel like a boot. This pair of boots single handedly, from the first try-on, maintained me as a thorogood-or-die customer. Thanks, flyways.

This is another good solid Thorogood boot. I'm comparing them with my first pair of Thorogood American Heritage wedge soles (see picture) Over all i think you are getting good quality materials and sturdy construction though they might be a bit overpriced compared to other options. My biggest complaint is the lining. I prefer an unlined boot and Thorogood has some unlined options which are great but I needed something warm and waterproof for a construction assignment in New York. These seemed to be the way to go as i had a good experience with their unlined wedge sole boots. Day one putting them on you immediately feel that thick waterproof lining. The tongue especially bunches up making it difficult to contour around your ankle. I got a crease in the middle that made a bit of a pressure point running up and down the front of my ankle causing some pain. However with some time breaking them in and adjusting my lacing pattern that problem has largely disappeared and they are much more comfortable now. That lining seems to be very effective at keeping water out but, as with all waterproof linings, you sacrifice breathability and your feet will sweat in these just like any other waterproof boot. Also the lining has a seam that runs up the back of of the uppers where your heel rubs. Again break in has largely made this a non-issue however I'm concerned that that seam will fail under the constant rubbing of the heel as there is no internal counter cover to protect it. On to fit. I have short wide feet and the toe box on these is feels noticably longer and narrower than their plain toe options. In my other Thorogoods i bought an 8.5 wide, which was still kind of long for me. In these i bought an 8 wide and they are definitely longer and narrower. That may have to do with the fact that they are Moc toe. Over all i am satisfied with them. The foot bed is very nice and comfy. Thorogoods always come with nice inserts. The sole could be a little grippier in my opinion but they get the job done and they don't pick up tons of mud. They are kind of marketed as an upland hunting boot but for that i would rather have something like a Kenetrek boot. But as a Fall/winter work boot they work great.

Strong, tough, and sturdy. I like these alot. I’ve gone through dozens and dozens of pairs including 20 years worth of wearing military boots. These are the best you can get as a civilian that is the same, if not surpassing military standards. Well made with thick quality leather and comfortable. The sole is heavy duty but soft enough to support 10 hour work shifts in the railroad maintenance field. Worth the money. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.
