Inspiring Sports and Life Story
Inspiring story about overcoming adversity but also proving to people that a perceived “disability” can be something that gives you an advantage over all of your doubters/opponents.

Thomas Fuller nailed it....
As a parent of a deaf daughter born in the 1960s, I need to say that Thomas Fuller has given a wonderful depiction of the deaf world, and the way it has so wonderfully changed in the last 2 centuries. His story covers every thing about that world really needed to be told for posterity....how he lets people understand that deafness is not a handycap but that they just cant hear....I loved his story that was told with so much understanding of these young men and the bonding they had.... loved the descriptions of the football games and the fun they had together when nt playing football. For me it was a step back to the past when my daughter was born and how we had to fight for ASL and not mainstreaming which was the way she was taught early on. how it seemed a light bulb went off as she learned to speak ASL and being a deaf child with hearing parents and sisters. thank you so much for this wonderful book...

good story
Interesting story, true events based on a true story. Lots of background information. Non fiction level of drama and suspense.

Hopeful & Heartening
Perfectly enjoyable while opening my mind to the world of non-hearing persons. I don't know much about football, but that was not an issue. It's the strength and perseverance of these students that shines. Recommend!

A remarkable story of victory over adversity
Capturing the spirit of a story like this that includes play by play descriptions of football games isn't easy. This entertaining novel is a remarkable achievement.

Guts and Love
This is a true story about the football team of a deaf high school. It includes emotions of the non hearing players, coaches and families. This telling enlightened me to a world I had not been privy to. Fair amount of football discussed. All heart.
