I looked at the reviews of these stations (metal, wood) and really liked the look of this one. Got an ankar 6 port, Okray colored usbs (so I know which is which), and put it all together (fits just tight enough, but carry it FROM THE BOTTOM or risk your electronics hitting the floor. I have everything incl. laptops, phones, lighters, headphones, earpieces, recorders - all which need charging, and this displays and organizes them beautifully. I put this on a big Belkin surge protector (12 plugs, single on/off switch, indicator light) so my toys are safe from electrical issues. (I live in an area famous for surges & lightening strikes; use them all over the house, esp. in the kitchen (breadmakers, microwaves, etc.) and study. Uses them for at least 15 years; never lost a computer, microwave, tv, breadmaker, treadmill or anything else due to power surges or lightening strikes (I live in an area where we have these frequently.) If I travel, I can flick the belkin off or unplug it; no fires, no losses, no worries.

I love this product. I've been searching the internet far and wide for an electronic dock like this for quite some time now, and I must say that I was extremely pleased when I came across a product that actually had enough slots for my many iDevices as well as my laptop computer. Many reviewers on this product mentioned two main complaints; that 1). the two wooden components that make up this dock come apart very easily & cause their devices to get knocked over each time they remove a device from the dock - I haven't had this problem what so ever. I noticed that people neglected to mention the fact that there is a magnetic closure specifically designed to keep the two wooden pieces held together, and its actually a pretty strong magnet! So I've never had that issue. 2.) Secondly, I noticed a few people stating that the 'laptop slot' was barely big enough for any computer larger than, say, a Macbook Air. This is completely false. I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15" with a thick rubberized case, and it fits in there just fine, with room to spare! The wood is plenty sturdy enough to support the weight of my laptop, an older, heavier iPad, an iPad Air, & my iPhone 5c. The only issue I have experience with the dock (which is why I have given it 4 stars out of 5 because its not perfect - but then again what is...?) is that I feel like one of those USB ports with like 5 spots to plug stuff in is pretty much necessary to be able to wrap your cords in through the holes & elastic straps provided in the bottom compartment. My cords on their own simply just aren't long enough to make it from the floor all the way to the top of my night table and then inside of this dock, with enough room left over to not break the cord by bending it in strange ways. I actually rarely even keep my iPhone on this dock because I tend to need to use my iPhone while its charging, and I got tired of constantly needing to unplug it from the dock just to check the time (since my cord was too short) - though if I wanted to spend the extra $20-40 on a USB 5-Port Thing-A-Ma-Jig, then yes this product would probably be a 5 star thing. So that's the only thing that is really missing, is that if it came with its own charging lightning/micro-USB docks (instead of you, the customer, needing to provide your own cords), then it would be 100% amazing.

Good construction and nice touches such as magnetic latches for holding it together. The wires protrude and you have to plug them into your phones manually, though the aesthetics are definitely a winner in our house: minimal dangling coils of wires. This works very well with multiple devices, we have 2 iphones and 2 ipads (1 mini) and they all fit easily. The biggest concern is trying to minimize the number of adapters - not an issue with this design at all and hence why this is still 5 stars. To solve this, I bought a couple of the Monoprice 4-port USB Wall Charger 4.2A for Apple and Android, Black . That can charge a couple of ipads or 4 phones (2 apple, 2 android-based) on fast charge. Others may have better suggestions, though we needed this organizer to be sitting on a dresser in front of a wall socket (ie. a mass of chargers would have needed to move the dresser out unnaturally). Overall, a great design that works well for the many-device household. Just remember that you don't get cables or chargers with this. Just use what you're already using. This is simply a stand, but an awesome, versatile one. We have 3 kids of 4, 10 and 16. The kids have to leave their devices in the kitchen overnight. We expect the devices to change/evolve over the years. This stand is perfect. Your charge cables enter the back, held in place by the band in the base of the stand so they stay put when unplugged for the next use. We’ll change the chargers and/or cables as the devices evolve over the years. The stand has place/will hold comfortably 3 MacBooks, or 3 iPads, and 3 iPods/iPhones. The math works for us. The stand is well built, sturdy, and has served us well for the last 3 months.
