Glorious. Expensive. Worth it.
The options for camp chair on the basis of 1. Comfort/durability, 2. attractive, and 3. cost-effective tend to favor just 3. Or they have an added disadvantage of being too heavy. This chair is certainly 1-2 choice. Frankly, I'm done with cheap. I have high expectations for longevity, given our first season with them. Light weight and sized for your average joe.

Great folding camping chair
We have had two of these chairs for several months now (originally ordered from a different web site) and have taken them on a few camping trips and love them and are ordering two more (from Amazon's web site, sold by The Mountain Air), for a second home. They are comfortable, feel very well made and sit slightly lower to the ground than other folding, travel chairs which is great for camping and hanging out at the beach. The first time the canvas got dirty I was worried about them staining but I was able to clean them with soap and water and let them air dry and they looked brand new -- I have now cleaned them several times with the same result. Do note that because they are canvas they don't dry as quickly as the polyester fabric of other similar chairs but for us the fact that they are a natural material makes up for the slower dry time. If you're wanting a chair that feels much nicer than their contemporaries and are willing to clean them when they get dirty these may be the chair for you. We love them.

OK but not the Snow Peak that you should pay top dollar for
Having purchased Snow Peak for several decades and enjoyed the simplistic yet guaranteed quality, I was a bit shocked to read the label on my two new Snow Peak chairs to discover that they are both made in China, instead of Japan. Let's be honest, very expensive for Made In China chairs, which you can get elsewhere for $5. Skip to the last paragraph if you just want to see my recommendation. Other than that, it's a pretty good chair. Compared to the Snow Peak folding directors chair I have, this one is slightly more comfortable. Both are sufficiently comfortable however. Depending on your preference you might prefer this chair for hand/pack carrying. This packs up in a traditional bag chair fashion but seems unusually longer than most. The Snow Peak folding directors chair however folds up flat, which in my mind is better for moving around the house and packing in a SUV. If I had better shipping options to my current location, hands down I would chose one of two different chairs. The first is the style that I've used for years when I was younger, the Blue Ridge Chair. Very solid, confusingly comfortable, and literally lasts decades. Like the Snow Peak folding directors chair this is a flat packing chair but I toted that chair everywhere without it being a burden AND packs up nicely in a vehicle. The second chair I would purchase over the Snow Peak ones is the Kermit Chair. This one packs up like a bag chair but packs up smaller than the Snow Peak Low Beach Chair .

$$$$ But Very Comfortable
Bought two of these for camping/RVing. They collapse to a small size and come with a very durable canvas type drawstring bag with a strap giving you the capability of slinging the chair over your shoulder. Great if you are headed to an outdoor event. Pros: - Lightweight (materials aluminum, bamboo, canvas) - no cheap plastic - Compact size yet comfortable - Stable chair - no wobble - Durable storage bag w/ strap Cons: - Yes, they are spendy - Instructions are translated from Japanese...therefore a bit awkward

Very Nice, with or without the hammock
Snow Peak continues to make quality products, this chair and hassock included. We first came across Snow Peak, at the Outdoor Research store in Seattle, around 1991 I think…and bought the Takibi fire pit, large. Just dusted it off a couple weeks ago, enjoying an outside fire. We also bought their wonderful candle lanterns and love those using the 4 oz canisters which we refill. Back to the chair and hammock, and now also their cup holder. I am 6’, 160 pounds, well also 78 years old. The chair is I’d say a hung canvas chair that has no bar under the hamstrings (great), and my back just barely touches the uprights. The bamboo arms are nicely made and quite smooth-nice. Without the hassock, I can stretch my legs out comfortably, and the hassock is also quite comfortable at the same height as the seat Even the chair stuff sack is quality. I can’t think of any downsides other than it does cost but I think worth it. Will be using this when I fire up the fire pit and heading out on trailer Road Trips! Oh, that cup holder by thw way even though one can do without, is sure a nice addition. I had to buy that directly from Snow Peak.
