Hi, thank you very much for your question. yes, this single monitor arm stand can work for a 27" acer gaming monitor. But please make sure there are four vesa mounting holes(75x75/100x100mm) at the back of your monitor and the weight not beyond 17.6lbs. Thank you!

On top of the desk, the clamp is 3" wide and comes about 3.5" in from the edge of the desk. Underneath the desk, it comes in 2 to 2 1/4" from the edge of the desk, depending on how you set it up.
