First off I do want to mention I received this product as a gift so my review does not factor in price. I have never used a mushroom grow kit before and I am going into this with ZERO research or preparation. So first off the bat, you're going to want to make sure you have a food-grade container to hold enough water that will soak this log. It's about the size of a football, but very lightweight (I'm a small woman with lifting restrictions, I appreciate how light it is). The instructions are very thorough and include some precautions and thoughts about environment for ideal growth. Mushrooms love low light and humidity so keep it out of sunlight and appliances that create dry air (dehumidifers, anything that creates heat). BTW, make sure you cover the log back up with the plastic flaps you made after you water it to help keep the water in and keep stuff humid. If you have a breathing condition you will want to make sure to keep it out of high-traffic areas because like all mushrooms, it's going to release spores. And don't hide it in a room with stale air because it's only going to build up worse. OK last thing, I am going to put a consolidated prep-work list for anyone else coming in with 0 experience: 1.) Obtain a large, clean food-safe container of a size that could soak a football sized log 2.) Find a location with dim lighting in a low-traffic area which you can access frequently for watering. I am choosing to put an air purifier nearby to contain the spores. 3.) Place your order!! (Do not order before steps 1 & 2, the instructions suggest to use the product right away so the strains don't die off) UPDATE 1: Despite running a dehumidifier 24/7 which I was worried would negatively impact the mushrooms, it has been growing incredibly quick. Pic #2 is just 2 days of growth! I am spraying it with water 4 times a day instead of twice a day to compensate.

These mushrooms actually grow! Not only do they grow, they are incredibly delicious sauteed in just a little bit of butter and salt and pepper. I have already grown mushrooms on one side of the log and harvested them. I re-soaked the log and I'm going for a second grow. I love this product. The fact that it's organic makes it even better. This makes a wonderful gift for yourself or for somebody else. Can't say enough good things about this company and their mushroom log.

I bought this for someone for Christmas this year (2025), wrapped it, and put it under the tree. Today, a week later, I’m cleaning and found the box like this, lol. (Excuse the wrapping paper—I was trying to get rid of old wedding wrapping paper). I guess this product works! Omg, I’m not sure what to do now, I guess I’ll open it and use it myself instead of gifting it, lol. I’ve never grown mushrooms before so maybe this is a common occurrence or maybe the atmosphere was perfect here in my house?? Idk. It looks cool, so there’s that.

Product seemed to come in rather healthy, well packaged product. Unfortunately the mushroom kit did not bloom at all, instead it turned brown/reddish immediately and did not produce a single fruiting body. Tried a secondary method and it oldie nothing at all.

Horrible. The box and substrate were open and damaged and crushed and molding. There is no option to get a replacement in support. Worst mushroom kit I have ever ordered and I’ve done many of these for years.

I’ll never buy any other brand going forward. These are amazing. The bloom happens so fast it’s not even rational. This is how far along after only four days. Absolutely astounding.

Shipping and handling was excellent, the product came in good condition and it looks and is excellent as advertised, the instructions of it are very easy but important to follow in order to get the best results. It’s about 3-4 lbs max and a size of a football(almost) so you need a clean container that’s safe for food and consuming food form it, you need it for soaking water first time( it needs to sit in water for 6-10 hours) also a clean undisturbed area moist and indirect sunlight to grow your kit there. Then follow the directions and spray water 4-6 times a day( make sure it always have enough water and fresh air and watch the magic happens😉 what I love about mushrooms and this kit is once it’s ready and you see the first sign of growing, then every few hours it get bigger almost double! I also had few questions and in about 5 minutes they answered and I had everything fixed and in order( I’m not stating a fact about the exact time of responding, could be right away or a little longer but they care and respond, knowing that they are there to help you and they will help you is a great feeling and option you receive, Highly recommend and can’t wait to try more items and grow kits🍄/Garden products from this seller.
