This thing was pretty easy install. It’s very sturdy and made of a good quality. The functionality of it is exactly what I was looking for. It’s very stable and secured even when hitting bumps and potholes. The magnet is super strong and will hold my entire key ring if keys.

I've been looking all over for an option to mount my Escort MaxCam 360C radar detector to the rear view mirror of my C8 Corvette and only found one option, which was expensive. I actually ordered that one and could never get it working properly with my mirror. I decided to order this mount and it works like a charm! There's just enough room to use this behind the mirror for the mounts and the magnet holds the radar detector securely. This has solved a huge problem for me without spending a lot of money. Update: I had to make a couple of modifications to make this work better for me. The mount itself is great, but it needs some protective rubber tape to keep it from scratching the back of the Corvette C8 mirror. I added some rubber tape and the car is protected. The other issue is the magnetic radar detector mount doesn't inspire confidence. It'll hold my MaxCam 360C just fine, but the magnet doesn't lock it in perfectly. The fit is a little off. Luckily I had another magnetic mount that I used on my visor and was able to use that mount instead. Now I've got the perfect setup.

This absolutely works as intended. I like having a mount that doesn’t rely on the dash or window. The magnet is perfect and the ball joints are great: I had a version of this maybe 8 years old and when I got a new car, the current screws were too long hitting the stuff above the rear mirror. I did not know where the shorter screws were. So I ordered this replacement, which looked like an “upgrade” as the older one would loosen and get jiggly. This newer version is sturdy, looks like the silicone “gaskets” on the ball joints will keep everything solid. The star deducted is for the actual mounting part, which doesn’t accommodate new cars as well. This is my second car with hardware above and facing the windscreen and at the header that make fitting the part challenging. It is not a clean fit and while it tightens ok and functionally works, it’s askew. The shorter screws fit correctly but due to the tight space was a real bear to get on. I love the device. It’s probably due for a total design evaluation for the mirror connection to address how cars have changed.

Took me less than 30 minutes to install the power tap and mount. Then you can sell your 12V cigarette lighter plug and windshield suction mount that will pay for most of this!
