Perfect fit and fast
This works great! I had purchased the wrong charger so I needed to find an adapter to attach that would still catch and was fast. This does the job and is fast.

Excellent Adaptor - Works with Apple Carplay
TL;DR - This adaptor works with old iPhones (XR) and AppleCar. _____________________________________________ I've used this particular adaptor for some time. I've been trying to move our household over to USB-C cables, since that is what we use for our Macbooks (which only have USB-C ports) but needed an adaptor for using the cords with our family's iPhones until we made the switch to the iPhone with the USB-C port, and I didn't want to buy a bunch of USB-C to Lighting cables that would be mostly unnecessary in a few months. Having used this adaptor to backup my old iPhone (data) and charge from a wall socket (power), I was already satisfied with them. However, it wasn't until a week ago that I realized that while I would have an iPhone with a USB-C port, my wife would have an iPhone with a lighting port, making the Carplay situation and swapping cables a nightmare. I wasn't sure this adaptor would work with Carplay and if the data requirements were different. However, I bought a few more and tested these adaptors with my iPhone XR, and a USB to USB-C Anker Cable, and it works perfectly, just as before. Very happy with them so far. Fingers crossed the rubber dongle helps keep the adaptor from disappearing...

The answer to the “one type of cable” problem
People, tech nerds especially, often complain about iPhones having Lightning ports and the fact that virtually every other device (laptops, tablets, Nintendo Switch, all Android smartphones) uses the USB C connector. It creates the problem of having to carry a USB C cable AND a Lightning cable when you travel or just in your home/car/workplace during your day to day life. This little adapter solves that problem for me, while it’s not perfect (more about that in a second), it does cover the basics of USB C Power Delivery (charging from a USB C wall plug) and data transfer for people who back up and sync their iPhones to Macs or iTunes on Windows. The reason I say it’s not perfect is because, you can’t do everything with this adapter like you could with a USB C equipped iPad. It’s not possible to output video to an external display, or use multiport adapters like you can with laptops. This adapter is good for two things and two things only: slower USB 2.0 (480Mbps data transfer) and up to 27 or 30 watt USB C Power Delivery charging (I haven’t figured out which is the uppermost limit for fast charging, because it says both in the item description page). There are other edge cases that won’t work either like trying to connect USB C headphones or connecting MIDI devices to your iPhone. There are some things where you might still need a USB A to Lightning adapter. I love that it comes with two keychain holders, so you can just keep it on your key ring or on an AirPods case using the carabiner. The adapter is well built and feels premium and durable…will update later if these don’t last or I encounter a problem. So far though, I think it’s well worth it for people who already have a lot of USB C devices.

Great for in a pinch when don’t have an MFi certified lightning cable around
My iPhone 12 Pro Max is my first foray into Apple. I had been using Android since the HTC Thunderbolt. That being said I have a bunch of USB C cables laying around. I didn’t want to have to buy more cable’s for charging and data transfer, in this case lighting cables, so I bought thought these thinking it would be a great idea. I’ve been using them since June of this year. They’re ok but I don’t recommend them for every day use. These adapters are not MFi certified, and that seems to matter when it comes to Apple products at times. I’ve also noticed after a few month’s of everyday day use at home, at work, or in the car, they don’t work like they should. I have to sometimes disconnect the adapter and flip it over on the USB C male end, and plug it back into the iPhone for it to work. I discovered this after my iPhone failed to charge overnight and in the car while driving. I thought the issue was the cables, and that didn’t seem to matter. This would happen on every USB C cable I have. So yeah, these are ok to have on your keychain and when you have nothing else, but I do not recommend them as your daily driver. Just buy a MFi certified lighting cable for everyday charging. They can be had here on Amazon for under $5 dollar’s.

It works
Works well for charging fruit devices like fruitdevice13 (phone) lanyard to attach to the USB cable is good so losing the adapter is more difficult

Poor performance and life expectancy
It worked OK for a couple of months then it started dropping the connection. The adaptor was placed on the device being charged and basically never plugged in and out so excessive wearing of the adaptor was not an issue. The adaptor is now heading to the garbage bin.

I dont know if it was due to an Apple update or what, but my iPhone no longer even reacts to this adapter being plugged in. Its like I didn't plug anything in at all! I tried many cables, type A and type C included, and all yeild nothing.
