I’m excited to share my experience with the DIY Blue Leather Purse Kit from PopSewing. So, instagram suggested PopSewing to me and I was influenced. I waffled for a few days before choosing the black Lindy kit. It arrived quickly and I was really impressed with the kit! The box was nicely packaged with an inventory sheet to confirm what was in the box.The top grain leather *smelled* like leather and is a nice quality. There’s little snipping scissors and plenty of waxed thread (if you follow the directions!). Everything you need other than glue and matches was there.The directions were available via GoogleDocs and YouTube. I kept both the Doc and the video pulled up to make sure I was following directly a closely. It was easy to follow the directions. I spent a couple of hours for a few evenings working on the bag and listening to podcasts.The finished product? I love her. It honestly is a gorgeous bag and it doesn’t look like she was sewed in my kitchen.Would I buy again? 100%

This purse turned out super cute. The instruction video was pretty easy to follow ( couple spots I had to watch a few times to make sure I was getting right). The kit came with everything you need except glue/a lighter to finish/lock the threads. The hardest part was turning it right side out. Over all it wasn’t very difficult, and I was able to finish in less than a week while watching tv after work in the evenings.Everything in the kit was nice quality, including the leather, and honestly I was surprised that it even included a decent pair of thread snippers!Definitely recommend this. Especially because now when I get compliments on my purse I can say, “thanks, I made it” and what peoples jaw drop!

I love crafts and handbags and this is the best of both worlds. This is my fourth POPSEWING bag and I love that I can get a good quality handbag for a fraction of what it would cost to buy something similar in a store. The video instructions can take a minute to figure out because they are subtitled but they are also very comprehensive and show every step.

I ordered the navy one first and I absolutely loved the project with high quality leather and hardwares. The leather is little stiff at first but it is getting softer by day. The project was so much fun with some challenges (part of fun), and finished product is just beautiful. I love it so much I got another one in brown, made it for my friend for her birthday.My finger tips hurt little from pulling needles, but that is not going to stop me from new project if I see another bags I like.Highly recommended!

This was such a fun experience. I have zero skills in leather work and minimal skills in sewing but was up for the challenge.The packaging: the packaging was great and came with everything you needed to put the bag together.The quality: I can’t attest to the quality of leather. When you first open the package, it smells quite heavy of chemically faux leather, but the smell dissipated pretty quickly and you start to smell some leather smells. Overall super soft supple leather- feeling material.The instructions: the package came with a QR code that sends you to an instructional YouTube video. It’s informative, and the speaker explains things in easy steps, but if it’s your first time making it, it’s a little hard to follow. There were parts I had to watch a few times like starting and ending/ knotting the threads.The process: I think this took me around 12 hours over a few days to put together. So this is definitely not a fast project. You have to be quite meticulous to make sure everything is aligned or else you might have to go back and redo it or end up overlapping a piece.Overall it was actually an enjoying process. I eventually got the hang of it and quite happy with the end product! Definitely recommend if you want to try making your own bag.

You cannot print a pdf of the instructions so need to look at phone or tablet to bring up the document with the instructions. I wanted to take a screenshot of a part of the instructions that were lacking but could not due to security policy. I have no idea how long my thread needs to be for step 4 on the small bag. (Maybe the information about thread length will be in the video, but seems super ridiculous to have to look at a video for that.)Editing to give one more star since the finished bag did turn out nice, but still think not being able to print out instructions is ridiculous!

This is my second bag from this company. The quality of their products is great. The instructions are easy to follow (videos). It's so fun to do and to have the pride of having done it yourself! You'll get great compliment on your bags for sure! I highly recommend! Won't be my last!
