When I was researching new-to-me books and authors in February, I came across Kennedy Ryan. While I didn't read any of her books in February, I made a mental note to pick up one of her books. Since then, I've been seeing the name Kennedy Ryan EVERYWHERE. I was gifted a copy of her newest book, Can't Get Enough, from NetGalley and let me tell you: The day it came through I tried to devour it in one sitting. I say tried because it's longer than the typical romance/women's fiction book I'm used to reading. It took me about eight hours to finish, In other words, I read seven hours yesterday, went to sleep, woke up at 5 a.m., finished it, and went back to sleep. All that to say: I couldn't get enough of Can't Get Enough. The story revolves around Hendrix, a bold, Black, fabulous woman who knows what she wants out of life and is going after it. She has a fabulous group of friends, and her mom and aunt who love her to death. She's a mover and shaker in Atlanta who is living the good life, but also taking care of and showing up for those she loves the most. She's not looking for love when love accidentally finds her at a party in Miami. Hendrix is getting a drink after taking over the dance floor when a tall, dark, and handsome stranger sits down next to her. They've been flirting for a few minutes when she learns it's Maverick, who just happens to be one of the hosts of the party… and the boyfriend of one of her business partners. Hendrix jets once she learns that, but only after she learns that Maverick and his girlfriend broke up a month before the party, does she start to lower her guard. Friends, what's not to love about a romance where our lead woman is being actively pursued by a billionaire? Oh, and not only is he a billionaire, but he respects her boundaries and life goals. He's not showering her with nonstop gifts, although there are a lot of champagne-colored roses, but he is showering her with nonstop respect as she continues to follow her passions and build her career. While the romance was hot and steamy, some of the subplots of the book were even more memorable to me. I'm not aware of any other book that has tackled Alzheimer's disease quite like Can't Get Enough. Hendrix's mom has the disease, and throughout the book, Hendrix learns how to deal with the diagnosis and take care of her mom. Hendrix isn't always perfect in her caregiving abilities, but you see her learning. With that, the reader learns, too. Many of these scenes in the book were incredibly poignant, and I know these are what I'll remember long after the romance portions fade from memory. Another element that stood out to me is the strong camaraderie and love between all of the women characters. Whether it's Hendrix with her best friends, family, or business partners, I loved seeing so many themes of women's empowerment and support woven between these pages. I can't wait to read more Kennedy Ryan novels. My only regret is that it took me researching “Black women authors” to find Kennedy. As she's written quite a few novels, she should be more mainstream than she is right now. Review: Hendrix x Maverick - The very first book I read after purchasing my Kindle was “Before I Let Go” and Kennedy Ryan instantly gained a new fan. This series was so familiar to me and it felt like home. The protagonists were mature, successful black women navigating family and love in MY actual city. So naturally, I was drawn to their stories. I absolutely loved Hendrix’s book. It’s crazy how many times I found myself smiling at the words. Her story resonated with me so much because she’s unapologetically fierce….An independent, confident, badass boss! She knew what she wanted out of life and never wavered. Even when curve balls were thrown her way at an attempt to block what she truly deserved……family, success, love….she faced it all head on and with grace. Maverick….he was the epitome of when you know you know. The was way he loved, supported and sacrificed was swoon worthy. The way he would drop everything to be by her side and take care of her was everything. Yeah….he makes the book boyfriend list! I commend Kennedy for highlighting Alzheimer’s disease. This was something else that hit close to home for me and I appreciate the awareness she created from the caretaker’s point of view. This book was so well written. The character development was exceptional and the storyline flowed effortlessly. This was an immersive reading experience and the narrator “Dream Team” were amazing. Wesleigh really brought Hendrix’s character to life and gave her all the sass that I imagined her to have. Bravo Ms. Kennedy

a good read but long
There was a lot of depth in this novel but I had a hard time finishing it. The emotions dealing with an aging parent and the passion of a forbidden love story was what hooked me. My only complaint is that this novel was excessively long. I think Kennedy Ryan could have still captivated the reader without making the novel drag on as much as it did.

Honest, Captivating, Passionate, A must read
The final in the Skyland series and I could not wait to get my hands on it. Kennedy Ryan has a gift for storytelling that feels both intimate and impactful, and this book is no exception. The dialogue is smart, the pacing is perfect, and the connection between the main characters is magnetic, you truly feel every moment with them. What I loved most is how the book balances passion with substance. It’s not just a love story; it’s a story about growth, healing, and choosing love even when it’s complicated. Like the other books in the skyland series she navigates serious issues like the intricacies of Alzheimer’s with such honestly and respect. This is the kind of book that stays with you long after you turn the last page.

Can’t Get Enough- @kennedyryanauthor Rating 6/5 ✨ Book 3 and the final instalment of the Skyland series (you should definitely read Before I Let Go (1) & This Could Be Us (2) before this one, to get a full picture, although they can all be read as standalones) My most anticipated read of the year, did NOT disappoint. I have actually never been disappointed by anything she’s written and that’s a big deal as I’ve read her entire collection (c.20 books) This felt like a homecoming. The little Easter eggs of all our favourite KR characters was so perfect. A reaffirming and dare I say realistic romance. Childless by choice, hardworking, life of the party Hendrix, carer for her parent, the best Aunty and an excellent friend. Hasn’t really thought the love she desires and is worthy of is out there, so she’s not even searching. Queue actual billionaire Maverick, right man, wrong time. Mr. TALK AND DO. Black surfer boy, intentional, family man, emotionally astute, funny and has walked a very similar journey to Hendrix as she’s caring for her parent. Favourite quote "I want my love to be the most extravagant gift I ever give you. I want it to be outrageously unconditional. I want it to overflow and spill into every crevice of your life, every corner of your heart”. I’m only sad that I can’t experience this ever again for the first time. What a book. What an author.
