The mushroom extracts from this company are what I judge all other extracts by. You can tell by the taste that these extracts contain a high level of medicinal compounds. I just wish they would sell these powders in higher quantities at a reduced bulk price. They are very expensive and bulk pricing can benefit both the producer and consumer. I encapsulated this powder into size 00 capsules. I was able to get just under 500mg into each capsule. I could take just one a day or take two a day which would be the recommended dosage on the packet. If it was for just general health maintanence I would go with 500mg or one a day. If you were taking it in order to fight a disease I would go for the 1000 mg dose or even 2000mg dose and maybe even take that two or three times a day. Reishi is very bitter and I feel that this is a good way to take it. The capsules will also help to preserve the powders freshness. I use “the capsule machine” to encapsulate powders. It is a US product. It only does 25 capsules at a time but unlike the Chinese made capsule machines that do 100 or more capsules the caps consistently go on with this machine. The Chinese machines break them and you end up having to put them all on by hand anyway so they don’t actually save you very much time. It is also much smaller and therefore easier for storage.

Packaging says longevity, Im still alive as of writing so that part is probably working. Will update when I die. Very bitter, but tolerable when diluted into a cup of tea, still present though. As for effects, im taking with their Lions Mane extract, so bear that in mind. I have had mild reduction in inflammation symptoms, but by and large the biggest recognizable change is in my sleep. I sleep more fully each night and wake up generally refreshed. I used to set 15 minute alarms 3 to 4 times before dragging myself out of bed. Now I want to, but can resist. Dreams are more often vivid, though ive always been an intense dreamer. Not a miracle cure, but it has helped me. The effects of Reishi tend to be subtle and longer term, so dont expect it to change your life in a few doses.

I wanted a reishi product made from the "fruiting body", i.e. what you see above the ground. Many mushroom powders are made form mycelium ( the underground network of the mushroom) and from the substrate on which the reishi is grown (rice etc). The product is pure and potent unlike many competitive powders, having many times the key compounds. I assume other brands if made only from the fruiting body would have the same nutrient advantages. I am trying to use for sleep, not sure of benefits yet after only 4-5 days of use. The taste is a bit bitter, but when mixed with cherry juice or pomegranate, it ends up tasting like a dark beer! I actually like the taste. Hoping to report improved sleep after a couple of weeks.

This product seemed to condense down everyday so there was less and less of it, in a very short period of time. ( I pour my mushroom powders in to separate dark glass containers when I receive them rather than digging them out of a bag.) The product smelled like cocoa. Other Reishi powders which I had purchased in the past, did not smell like chocolate. Not sure what's going on but will not purchase again. I wanted to like this product, sorry.
