I just used this for a 2023 6.2 GMC engine (lack of oil changes caused engine damage). It doesn't come with pre installed lifting brackets. The chain worked perfectly and I even rolled the hoist around the shop with the engine still hanging so I would have more space to work instead of in my small service bay. I transferred the exhaust manifolds and a few small parts over with the engine still hanging, chained up the new engine, and installed it without issue. The chain will be used again. For this price it's an easy decision to buy it, even if you are only going to use it once- especially if the engine you are working with does not come with pre installed lifting brackets. I could see using this for transmissions and other heavy parts as well.

Strong. Must have for engine lifting

Was shocked it worked as well as it did. Had to move a couple 6.0 LS engines and this worked out well. Mounted them to the back and front of the heads. Had the intake off and it had plenty of chain. Did kinda put pressure on the fuel rail on the hole I used but that could be solved by moving it. I did try to see if the chain was long enough to use with intake on and it was just long enough but honestly would be a lot easier to take it off first. The anchor points are flared out like regular engine lift shackles and this is a bonus. I know there is a review on here where the shackle point broke. I mean that would suck on a new long block. But the two I swung in were good. It says on chain not to work under engine while lifted, that's just common sense. All in all it's a great deal for the price, feels a little cheap in quality but did not feel any give while using. I would advise that this only be used on gas engines and not with the transmission attached.

Ive used this to pull two seperate subaru 2.5L engines, install replacements for those two engines, and also used it to lift two other engines to get enough clearance for oil pan replacements. It's super handy to have and took some of the guesswork or sketchiness out of where to pick up the engine from, and allows you to reposition the lifting eye to keep the engine level.

Hoist Chain was exactly what I needed. Engine sits far back into engine bay the 4 point adjustable one I have didn’t fit. Hold engine and transmission with no issues. Wouldn’t leave hanging long term. Priced perfectly.
