My Girlfriend & I Love it!!!
My girlfriend isn't much of a gamer, but she always sees me gaming on my Xbox or PC, so i guess she wanted a little something for herself too. When she was young, she had an N64 and Mario Kart was one of her favorite games. I did my research in search of a game for her that she'd like, and i ran into this one. I saw it and i said, okay we're getting somewhere. Then i read as many reviews as possible throughout multiple websites, and encountered nothing but positive feedback on this game. I can say that this game is Fun & Beautiful. It's pretty much Mario Kart, but Sonic (as good or maybe even better). The buttons are extremely easy and to the point. After every race you earn i think it's called "Sega Points/Cash", and with those Sega points you can go into the Sonic Racing Store and unlock/buy New Maps, Characters, & more Soundtracks (it gives you something more to play for). There are SO MANY Characters & fun Maps to choose from, so the variety is there. The detail & atmosphere in each level is admirable, the designers did a beautiful job detailing and animating the maps. Besides the classical "Race" mode, there are many other fun game types with an objective that are available to play. This game is complete: many characters, many & beautiful maps, up to local 4-player split screen, 8-player Xbox Live to play with other people around the world, etc. Two of my good friends were over my house on Friday night (and we're hardcore gamers), and we actually sat down for 2 hours playing this game and unlocking more characters & maps... it was fun. Overall, my girlfriend loves this game, and i enjoy it a lot myself. So if you're looking for something fun for the kids, maybe even for your girlfriend, or if you have Mario Kart nostalgia... i can 110% recommend this game, it's nothing but a great game.

Loads Of Fun: Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing [X-Box]
This game is fun and the graphics much better than the Wii. Pretty much the same idea as Mario Bros 'Mario Kart' but with better graphics and a bit more imagination at play here. If you like the Mario Kart you will like this one. Just as challenging and just as much fun. I am still in the beginner mode at this point and I am winning or placing in, almost every race. Some races are very challenging in the beginner mode, for me, and that is the way it should be. I am not a heavy gamer by any stretch. Maybe play X-Box and Wii about 1-4 times in a month. More if my son invites me to play a game with him. As you run through the races you accumulate money to buy more characters, race courses and music. You can keep score of your accumulated scores in a multitude of challenges. Far too many to name at this time. It is like they spent a lot of time thinking up reasons for you to 'win' something. I think that is asinine but younger players (say, under 14) may enjoy this aspect of the game. A fun game and a nice change-up from Mario Kart. I'd say that'Sonic and Sega All-Stars' compliments 'Mario Kart' nicely. For $20 and free shipping this game is just as good as Mario Kart and can't be beat. Happy Gaming... . NOTE: If you have Component connections on your TV or amplifier I recommend you get the Component connectors for your Wii. The connectors only cost about $10 and there is definitely an improvement in the picture whether you are playing games or viewing downloadable media through your Wii, like movies, cartoons, etc. --------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE June 2014: My disc has been unavoidably scratched and I wanted another one to replace my first one. I like the game enough to buy it again. I am glad it is still reasonably priced. Good news. UPDATE August 2014: I purchased a Wii Version instead of the X-Box version. I have written a review of that one as well. The long and the short of the Wii Version is that it is identical to the X-Box and I don't have to worry about bumping the Wii and getting laser burn.

Great game love racing games. Growing up playing same game on original equipment isn't the same as it is here. Recommend to anyone one and everyone one who is a sonic fan. Absolutely a must play game.

Great game for Mario Kart lovers!
My husband wasn't a big videogamer until I got him hooked on Mario Kart a few months ago. Then he began wondering if there were any similar games out there he could play, that involved cartoony characters and neat, varied courses with big jumps. After searching high and low (and trying some pretty lame games) I finally bought Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and it is a blast!! The thing he likes most about it, besides the fun of the racing, is the fact that you don't have to win cups to unlock characters and other courses. You rack up what are called Sega Miles, and you get those by playing anything, even time trials. You buy new courses, characters, and music with the Sega Miles. There are several modes of play. There are the standard cup races, of course, and then there are time trials. There is also a single-race option, where you only race one race, and if you win you get a ton of miles. Also, there is a challenge mode where you have different goals to accomplish to move on to the next challenge. And there are multiplayer options as well but since we only have one controller I haven't tested those out. The characters are fun, the vehicles very different and neat, and the courses are a blast. It is easy to steer and use the power-ups, and the music is peppy. My husband still prefers Mario Kart, but he ranks this game a very close second. Highly recommended!!

A Great Racing Game! Honest Review
I downloaded this demo and it was so much fun I decided to buy it. If you love "Kart" games and are a SEGA fan like myself, then this game is for you. I think this game is WAY more fun then any of the recent Mario Kart games and has a massive amount of fan service. You can play as almost everyone from the Sonic universe and each has a unique special move. My personal favortie is Ryo Hazuki from the beloved Shenmue series. It also has other characters from various dreamcast titles. The gameplay is awesome and the controls are very responsive. Each track was developed with exquisite detail in every part of the map. The soundtrack is fun and catchy and also very nostolgic. Not only will this game appeal to the SEGA fanboy but it fun for the whole family (cheesy, but true). Online racing is very fun it is great to make friends with other SEGA fans. I am being totally unbias in my opinion and giving a very honest review. (It's not like SEGA is paying me or anything. Hell we dont even have a Shenmue 3. I need closure!) Anyhow, this is an overall great game. I hope you wont be dissappointed. I wasn't.

A Fun Experience
I bought this game because when i was growing up Mario Kart was one of my absolute favorite games ever. I thought that since this was a kart style game that it would be the closest thing that i can by for xbox 360. This game as a whole was very fun, the only problem that i would have is that i think there are too many missions and not enough grand prix races. I finished the racing portion in about 1 hour 30 minutes and now i am on the mission part of the game. The controls are very simple which makes the game great for gamers of all ages. There are a few different game styles as well. You can do the grand prix races, time trials, missions, and also a multiplayer portion to play on xbox live. This allows the game to have more than a couple hours of playability. Also, unlike Sega Super Stars Tennis, it is actually possible to get AAA ratings on missions. Overall this game was really fun but i dont know if it will have the lasting appeal that Mario Kart had for me.

A worthy rival to Mario Kart
Finally there is a game that can compete head to head with Mario Kart as a fun mascot racing game. Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing is a fun racing game that anyone can pick up and play right away. There is a very good selection of racers at the start as well as many unlockable ones which provides an incentive to keep playing. Despite being easy to jump right into, it can also provide a challenge on the higher difficulties. The game contains a fun and interesting selection of tracks based on various Sega franchises, with Sonic being the most represented. There are also a good selection of game modes. The usual cup races which gives points based on which place you finish in each of four races, with the highest total being the winner is the standard. It also includes Time Trial, Single Race, Multi-player modes of most of the other modes, and a Mission mode which gives you a unique task to do on the various courses. There is a lot to play here. If you like racing games with weapons and powerups I would recommend this game.

serious Mario Kart contender
I had my reservations about this game when I first got it, but from the reviews and opinions of others, I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. This game is amazing, I think that it is actually more fun then Mario Kart. If you've played through MK, then you can notice that the feeling of speed (going fast) gets lost and it just seems liek you are going really slow, but with this game, i felt the speed throughout the game. The missions are a great place to start because it helps to teach you the basics and slowly build you up in difficult and skill. Playing others is also fun, be it online or in person. The roster of playable characters is pretty big, and the amount of tracks is decent. you should totally try this game if you have gotten bored of other kart racers, you won't be sorry
