This 'Orient' branded ('automatic' powered & manual winding movement) 'Dress watch' is one of my favourite watches of 'my collection'! Well worth what I paid for it. My second wristwatch with a 'Seiko Movement' but still NOT a 'Seiko Branded' model. All the better for it, as it is cheaper as a result! Though 'Seiko Epson' is stamped on the caseback, due to Orient being a 'brand' that is 'owned by' the 'Seiko Epson Corporation'.

This watch has that timeless classic look I've been looking for. It isn't really timeless though, as it keeps time perfectly synchronized with my phone, so far. The champagne-colored dial has a shiny face and the silvery numbers and stripes cooperate well together, just small enough to keep them from getting too bulky or being illegible. The big bulb of mineral glass is very clear and adds to the magic with the small distortions it creates in the viewing of the dial at different angles. The design omits the cheap-tinged "water resistant" notice from the dial and replaces it with the small seconds disk in a very tasteful manner. The Orient logo is one of the prettiest I favor and eminates that classic shiny watch style to a great extent. The little viewing window in the back of the watch let's you see a limited portion of the mechanical action, which satisfied the playful child in me to the same moderate extent. The watch is made in Thailand, which is a beautiful oriental place, but not Japanese at all. They did a good job over there, as the watch was produced and delivered flawless. Not a single disturbing notch, scratch or scuff to be found anywhere, except for the little fixation dents in the rotator, which are there by design. The watch is very silent when it comes to ticking, but it also produces a soft whirring sound when wound or moved that is fine nor delicate. The strong strap fits the styling of the dial, but it's made up of a genuine fake-looking fake crocodile leather and might get replaced at some point. It's not a small watch, nor disturbingly big. It's a miniature clockwork, not a little toy. Let's hope this gorgeous watch passes the tests of time and ages in a manner befitting it's current looks.
