Superb Little Knife and Not just For Tomatoes!
I like tomatoes. And I prefer the ones that have been ripened on the vine and are of a variety that has a proper flavour, rather than those that are picked while half-ripe and remain flavourless and bullet-hard for weeks on end. The downside is that the tomatoes I buy can get a little soft just days after purchase. And if, they hide themselves at the bottom of your fridge, only surfacing a week or so later, they can be especially soft and difficult to slice cleanly. So, when I learned of the existence of a knife specifically designed to cut tomatoes, I knew I had to have one! After much deliberation, I decided on this little beauty. Solidly constructed and very nicely finished, it is made from German X50 Cr Mo V15 stainless steel. Very durable and very hard. The latter being important as the serrated edge is going to be rather tricky to sharpen, I think. The blade is very sharp and effortlessly slices even the mushiest of fruits. Its compact size is especially handy for smaller cherry tomatoes which you wouldn’t want to try and hold while attacking with a full-size chef’s or Santoku knife. Handles a variety of small fruits and vegetables and even does a very good job as a mini breadknife when tackling small loaves, rolls and buns.

Best knife purchase ever
I have bought quite a few very sharp knives for cutting joints of meat which are good but heavy to use. Saw this type of knife used by a chef on a youtube video and it looked ideal. Opted for the 11 inch rather than the 14 inch which for me not carving half a pig is ideal. The knife is well balanced and cuts so thinly, even my Husband uses it and he is very fussy. Carving a small 2kgs honey glazed ham joint it cut thin slices when cold like a hot blade in butter. How this will be in 12 months we shall see but for now very pleased. My only moan is that it should be sold with a cover being as sharp as it is. Would have happily paid extra for this.

Steel a bit soft?
This is a great knife and a great value, but the steel is a little bit soft. I havent owned it for very long, but the edge has developed a concave section from sharpening. That said, I'll probably buy another. If you need a small paring knife (and who doesn't) this one is a little cracker.

Excellent knife with a good balance, keeps a sharp edge.
This is the 2nd time I have purchased this particular knife, the 1st was left at a function never to be seen again. A sturdy knife that retains a very good scalloped edge. Multi purpose versatile knife, will just as easily slice a roasted joint as slicing large cake. Would recommend to family and friends.

Excellent entry level knife
Superb balance, good weight, very sharp out of the box. This is very solidly made, smacks of quality much higher than the price point. It's been good for all things, including fine julienne and dice as well as carving meats. Retains edge very well. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a first proper knife and not just a cheap thing to chuck in the dishwasher.

I ordered this to replace an old Mundial full bolster western-style chef's knife which served me well for 20 years. Back then I paid around $50. So to see another quality, fully forged, German stainless steel knife for under $100, about half of a Wusthof or Zwilling of similar quality and features. Its worth every cent, and a good alternative to the similar but high-priced German equivalents. The Delrin handle is comfortable, water and bacteria resistant, the knife is kitchen certified, and is used extensively in culinary arts programs. A US company, German steel, and made in Taiwan. An equation that in this case, works splendidly. This is a very good alternative to the pricier knives, while retaining the best features of a western-style chef knife. Sharp out of the box, a nicely polished spine, and the bolster is not a full one, offering better comfort and control. Even the choil is not overly sharp on the grip, and the rivets and full-tang complete the package. A nice knife to use, and easy on the eyes too in its simplicity and smart design. This is German fully forged steel, full tang, semi bolster and true western profile for everything from rock-chopping to slicking to crushing garlic. Its a workhorse, and at this price, a no-brainer if you want western style, German steel knives for much less than some other, more well-established brands. You wont see these in stores, as the company prioritizes supplying culinary schools and restaurants/food service industry. That alone speaks for the quality and confidence in this US brand. If you want to stock up on industry-approved knives, this is it. You can't go wrong. Now, you certainly can pay more, even hundreds more, for another brand from another country (they are great too - don't get me wrong), but why? You simply do not have to. Get this.

Grazie Amazon

Nice quality knife. It is a pretty thick knife so I have some issues with wedging with onions. I have not had issues with rust as I hand wash my knives and do not put them in a dishwasher. Feels comfortable to pinch grip and with a nice blade design for rock chopping. It was pretty sharp out of the package, but I did end up touching it up with a Shapton 1000 and stropped it.
