This sizing tool is wrongly sized - the gap is too large and gives incorrect readings (as mentioned in other reviews). Do not purchase this item for Schlage keys. Instead, buy the rectangular Schlage-marked item also on Amazon - that one works perfectly for me.

The key gauge was off by one digit. It worked once you figured out the math

This gauge is OFF BY ONE DIGIT. This is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I am so glad I checked it first by using a key that had the factory code stamped on it. The test key was stamped "52534", and the gauge read "63645". I was able to use it to gauge an unstamped key, but ONLY BECAUSE I TESTED it first, and added "1" to each measurement from the gauge. Buy one that is correct in the first place!
