Attack the trails with all of the extra tools but none of the extra weight in the minimus trail 10v1. We've brought back the favorite fit and feel of the original model, for unparalleled off-road performance. The new upper material allows for a fresh look at the trail 10, while maintaining the essential forefoot toe splay, and midfoot wrap to hold the foot steady through even the most extreme adventures. Underfoot, the Vibram outsole continues with strategically-placed flex grooves to allow for a natural ruh.Your left and right feet may differ in length or width as much as a full size. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.

Sleek, Lightweight, Flexible…Ready to Run
Like many New Balance products, these running shoes do not disappoint! They are made of quality materials that are both breathable and lightweight. Unlike many bulky running shoes, these are sleek and flexible while still providing essential arch support. The fit is as described and right on. I will be getting lots of use out of these and know they will last a long time as my previous pairs of New Balance have. Highly recommend!

Good shoe
I really like these. Very comfortable and light. I used them for grass volleyball and they were pretty grippy in the grass too

Snug.
Nice, but snug fitted for double wide foot. Not like previous minimus versions. Wish they didn’t discontinue the previous styles.

I like them and Still like them
May 2025- I still really like this shoe. Posting again with old review below. I wasn't sure about the cord around the heel then. I figured thoughcomfy and a great fit they wouldn't last. I was wrong. They are still great.October 2024 - A good shoe with better than normal protction for the bottom of your foot in rocky terrain. I climbed (3) 13ners almost right out of the box. These were agile and grippy enough for the dirt, tallus, and gravel. I love my old minimu shoes. These are an good replacement but not as good for comfort as the old for straight path walking. 12 wide fit right for my 12 wide feet. Good arch support. Spongy on pavement so this is the only time they feel odd on my feet.

Size Matters
NB shoes run one size smaller. I am a 10.5 and had to order the 11.5 shoe. Other than that, the shoes fit great.

Very slippery soles
New Balance Minimus shoes: comfortable, light, fit well, but first day on trail (unfortunately after the return window), found the soles to be extremely slippery. No one else slipped on the wet rock I stepped on and fell on my back badly. Throughout hike, I was the only one slipping on anything mildly wet. One person was walking in flip flops and didn’t slip. I've hiked for five decades all around the world and never had shoes as slippery. Wouldn’t buy them again, and may not use them again. Beware.

Narrow, poor fit
Poor fit! There are three main ideas behind a minimalist shoe: 1) zero or near zero drop like a real foot. NB does a good job here; 2) flexible lengthwise like a real foot. NB does a good job here; and 3) significant width so the toes and foot can spread out, like a healthy foot. NB does a terrible job here. In fact, the narrow width (even for the “wide” varieties ruins the shoe forcing an oversize to get a reasonable width for a minimalist shoe. If a runner wants to wear unhealthy, narrow shoes, there are countless options.
