Western Digital 8TB WD Purple Pro Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD - SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD8002PURP

I have 4 of these in a Ubiquiti Unifi NVR recording 24/7 from 10 cameras for the past 2 years. Added an additional one recently. These are reliable and more quiet than the Seagates but a little pricier. Not a big deal if it's in the closet anyway though.

Cant go wrong with WD Hard drives, had one fail and they told me it would be credited and to just order another one. not very often do they fail and when they do they warranty them. Easy to install not real loud and function great for my security deployments

I only write reviews when necessary. Packing and stuff was fine. I dont know why the drive wasnt working there could be a plethora of issues. Either someone dropped it on its head and wasnt treated properly or its a fake. Most likely the first one. It is getting detected in W11 but cannot be format. It also is not working nor getting detected in my UDM pro. I might be a one time case but be cautious, buy from best buy or something idk.

We've been using these now for 3 months with our Ubiquiti/Unifi surveillance camera setup. We've had zero failures and very quick loading time when accessing older clips.

Performs well but it is noiser than smaller capacity drives. Seems like all the bigger drives are like that. It's the loudest part of my NVR now.

I have this 8TB hard drive in my Reolink RLN8-410 NVR. The actual storage is 7.4 TB when you put it in, which is par for the course. It stores about 15 days of 24/7 on 7 cameras.

Bought this to replace a TiVo hard drive which went bad. Works great, nice and quiet, no complaints. Seagate was the only brand several years ago which were not shingling their drives, and as a result they have won my loyalty.
