Simple, Reliable, and Exactly What We Needed
What can I say — she had surgery, and we used these ABD pads to cushion the area between her incisions and her compression garment. They did their job, plain and simple. They’re soft, absorbent, and the perfect size for covering and protecting sensitive areas without shifting around. No irritation, no issues, and they held up well through multiple dressing changes each day. If you need dependable, comfortable pads for post-op care, these are a solid choice. They made a tough recovery a little easier, and that’s all I could ask for.

Great replacement of gauze squares, place over for comfort play over for comfort
I’m five days postop from cholectomy surgery and the abdominal binder was bothering the incisions where they use just gauze pads- so I replaced all the bandages over the incision sites using these abdominal Pads and then wrapping each one to stay in place with the elastic gauze with self adhesive! Wow, feel so much better and I’m able to ambulate much more freely! These guys’s pads are large enough that I only needed one! It covered three incisions! Since these incisions are closed, I didn’t have to worry about sterile and they’re covered surgically with a glue very soft very nice comfortable and I’m sure very absorbent if I’m sweating, which thankfully I have air conditioning so for me, it was just to protect the incision site.

These worked well and are a must if you have a large surgical wound. Sterile sponges in place first then these on top and no leakage on clothing. Comfortable and reliable.

Here's the Abdominal Pad You've Been Looking For
To start, I managed to spill a scalding hot pot of freshly made chicken broth on the front of me, resulting in 2nd and 3rd degree burns across my abdomen. I don't recommend anyone do this, by the way. I was given limited supplies at the ER, so I had to dig for my own and ordered these. My burns are approximately 14" wide and 13" long, so I needed the biggest pads I could find. Believe it or not, large abdominal pads are hard to find, so I was delighted when I found these, even though they're not nonstick. The PROS (in my opinion): These pads are 5"x 10"- the biggest I've ever seen, which is exactly what I needed. I taped 3 together, with silk tape, to form one huge pad, and it covered everything! Burns drain a lot, but big burns are particularly nasty. These pads absorbed everything like a champ. After a day or two of use, I took a good look at the pads and realized they're basically disposable baby diapers, without the stretchy sides, except they're thinner. I don't care because nothing else was even close to the size I needed. The CONS (in my opinion): There are few cons for me, but don't try to use these pads with paper tape. You'll need something stronger, like silk tape. These pads ARE NOT NONSTICK. I thought they were when I ordered them, but I misread the description, so the responsibility of that falls on me. This was easily remedied by gently pouring warm water on the pads to soften the dried drainage to remove them painlessly. It's best not to cut these pads to size. If you cut them, the insides will fall out immediately. If you must cut them, seal up the cut edge with a piece of tape to keep everything inside. The pad filling will sometimes clump up on me and feel weird, but it doesn't seem to affect its performance. I can't recommend these pads highly enough as they literally saved my life by keeping my burns, which are still healing as I type, covered and safe.

Used for lymphatic drainage with great results!
My mother suffers from large blisters on her legs due to lymphedema. It is an ongoing battle, as when the blisters break, the leakage is non-stop. I have used sanitary pads to absorb the drainage, but upon reading about how to treat these blisters at home, I came across a recommendation to use absorbent pads. I ordered these on Amazon, as I liked that they were individually packaged. As the blisters are sometimes open, it was essential to find a sterile product to use. We visited the podiatrist's office this week, and the doctor was pleased with the progress of the wounds' healing. The key is that you can place this pad over the wounds, and it doesn't pull off the skin when removed, holding an amazing amount of discharge. (I know this is somewhat graphic, but if you are dealing with this problem, learning about the details of how they work is key.) In the past, when removing bandages, I have caused more damage as they bandages pull off skin. I use these with an elasticized web stocking to hold them in place. No more awful damage to sheets and clothing, as the pad is so absorbent. These really are game changers.
