Good product
Tried this after the cheaper baking powders sold in local supermarkets left a disgusting metallic aftertaste in multiple baked goods. I've only used it a couple of times and it rose well, works fine and I haven't detected any metallic aftertaste so far. Can't comment on the shelf life as it's a fairly recent purchase, but since it's pricier and larger in quantity, I hope it lasts a while!

Very good product, very bad packaging.
The tin can of powder arrived in amazon plastic bag packaging. Very sad packaging indeed. Moving on, the powder I received is baking powder & not baking soda like some reviews mentioned. Also it was manufactured in Oct 2020 & received it now in Feb 2021. So four months old. It's as effective as a new baking powder can be. Flavour: It's definitely aluminium free. Doesn't add or alter the taste of the baked goods. On par with Foster Clarks baking powder. Puffing effect: No issues with rising in cakes so far. Container: Terrible lid. This powder needs to be kept airtight. It comes in a tin can with a plastic lid. Beneath the lid is the seal that you normally find on milkmaid cans. But the plastic lid isn't very tight fit. So if this powder has to last long then it needs to be transferred to an airtight bottle. I'm using my empty Foster Clarks dibba for storing it for now, a glass jar would work very well, remember that whatever you transfer it to is dry as a sahara desert. Key point to remember: 1. These aluminium free powders start getting activated when in contact with moisture, so when using it in a cake batter, you need to finish completing the batter within 1hr or less & put it for baking in the oven. The sooner it goes into the oven the better the result will be. For recipes that require overnight sitting, you should use the usual SAS baking powders you find in local markets, when used in moderation they don't add a bitter after taste. 2. Do not refrigerate or freeze this baking powder hoping to increase the shelf life/expiration date. It's activated on moisture so definitely store it in a dry place tucked away in a drawer or cabinet. Also wouldn't keep it near a heat source. I hope that amazon uses cardboard boxes for shipping these cause my can was dented near the top area, with the poor lid mechanism this powder would have lost its effectiveness within weeks of storage. My favourite baking powder has been Foster Clark's for many years, lately I couldn't find it online or through a local import source. Can't remember the cost of it either, mine expired recently but still hasn't lost its effect. I hope this urban platter baking powder can be a viable alternative to it, so far I'm not disappointed, will see if it lasts as long as it should & if not then will update this review. Update 09/23: Ordered it again this month. Amazon ships the can in a cardboard box now. I have received a Jan '23 manufactured product in Sept '23 and it expires July '24. If you store it in a air tight container from day one of opening it then this powder will retain its strength for about 2.5 yrs max. I haven't used the new one yet because the old one I got in Feb 21 is still left over a little bit & functional, will update the review if I find any fault in the new one.
