My 8 yr old boy loves this (he loves all things volcanoes). I love it because the balls can be cleaned up and it's reusable so a bang for your buck. I will say that the slime it comes with indeed gives it special effects but is a sticky cleaning nightmare so have them play with it far from any textiles.

enjoy this in many ways, brought the idea of volcano eruption to a new high, worked well with skittles and other volcanic options. Besides the red balls and slime provided for volcanic experience.

Fun "pop-up" volcano
This is not your regular old paper mache volcano with vinegar and baking soda.. This is a ready-to-use volcano. You don't have to spend hours making it and painting it. The volcano works by pressing the handle a couple times and pushing up the crater, making the slime or the balls erupt out. The eruption is not a super explosion for the slime, so the slime doesn't get everywhere. You can keep it from being too too messy. The balls do pop out of the volcano when you erupt it.
