So glad I found these before my last trip.
I used these for the first time on a recent trip to/from Las Vegas, a five-hour flight. They worked perfectly and gave me a great deal of peace of mind as well as comfortable ears during, and after, the flights. I was very nervous about this trip, as I flew with a cold last winter and suffered a lot during landing due to one blocked ear. It was very uncomfortable, but more than that, the whole event made me very nervous about flying. I did some research and found these EarPlanes and read reviews and advice on how to use. They really helped me get through these long flights very successfully. No problems with pressure during takeoff or landing, no problems with my ears after the flights, and I found myself completely relaxed about the flight home since I knew my ears would be okay. Tip #1: Get them in your ears one hour before takeoff, one hour+ before landing. Set a timer if you have to in order to remember, but it's important. Remember also that some flights will land sooner than you might expect them to, if they've been able to shave time off the flight; if necessary ask a flight attendant for a heads-up before the descent begins. Tip #2: When inserting these, gently pull your ear down to open the space a little more. Will be much more comfortable. These are gentle and unobtrusive, especially if you have longer hair to cover them. I bought a three-pack and did a trial run with one pair before I was even on a plane, just to see how they felt, practice inserting them correctly and comfortably, etc. Great product, will never fly without.

If you suffer from ear pressure on the plane GET THESE
These are LIFE SAVERS!!!!!!! I have Eustachian tube dysfunction due to my ears not healing properly when my tubes fell out. I have had countless ear infections, bouts of dizziness, can’t ride rollercoasters, forget about mountain driving, let alone riding a plane. I just got off a flight as I write this! In the past 4 days I have taken three flights now, two of them back and back and my ears are fully intact!!! No eardrum explosion, no head splitting pain as the pressure builds in my eardrum! None of that! On my second flight some pressure did get trapped but I experienced very little pain and by the time I got to my destination my ear had corrected itself. It takes a few trials to figure out how to get the ear plane in your ear. My advice is get it in deep, but avoid pushing pressure into your ears as you do so. I tried these back in 2015 and I don’t think I had it in deep enough so some pressure wasn’t filtered through the ear plane and it was extremely painful. I’ve been hesitant to fly again since then but I very nervously decided to try them again and I can not emphasize enough how GRATEFUL I am to the creators of these things!! Changed the trajectory of my life. Now I can explore the states without worrying about elevation and now I can travel the world with my family. I am so grateful. Get them, you won’t regret it! Follow the directions. Oh and I saw some reviews about them not canceling enough of the noise out, that is not their purpose although they do absolutely help with the noise.

Happy tears are better than painful tears
These things. They changed travel for me. I don’t fly much, so I reached almost 3 decades of life before realizing that I have inner ear problems that cause excruciating pain during flying. My last flights before these resulted in so much discomfort and blocked ears (hearing loss) for 4 days after landing. Awful way to experience Disney World. The flight home was worse because I picked up someone’s sinus infection while vacationing. Tears streaming down my face as I chewed gum and drank water and ate cookies and worked my jaw and pulled on my ears and tilted my head at all angles to alleviate the pain. The poor pilot seated next to me making a connecting flight tried his best to ignore me, and I kept checking my ears because I was certain they were bleeding. It was really bad. And my ears were then blocked for 9 days after landing at home. Then I started planning a dream vacation for my husband and I, and realized I had to find a solution because I REFUSED for that time to be negatively affected by my ears. These are not a complete solution for me, but they are absolutely a key factor. I put them in before takeoff (as we taxi away from the gate), take them out at cruising altitude, and put them back in 45 minutes prior to landing. I made the mistake of keeping them in for 4 hours during our flight to California and my ear got inflamed and made it harder to suction/balance pressure for the landing flight. There is a very good chance I force them into my ear too far, and my ears definitely got inflamed because I get pushing/twisting them to make them more snug through that time. In addition to these, I use decongesting nasal spray and have a pill form decongestant (that is safe to take with the nasal spray) for emergencies. While ascending, I felt the pockets of pressure kind of “popping” out of my ears. It very weird but also extremely satisfying because you can feel them working. Descending was rougher for me (I think it’s just my ears…), and I had some remaining air block in one ear, but that popped within a couple of hours rather than days. In total, these things got me through the following flights: Boston to California, California to Maui, Maui to Denver, and Denver to Boston. I will soon be using them from Boston to South Carolina and South Carolina to Florida, then back. I’m not exaggerating to say that I don’t think I could physically fly without these. The nasal spray is also a huge help, as is eating and drinking. As a side note: you have to use over the ear headphones with these. I have Airpod Pro Gen 1s that I sadly couldn’t use with these, but I purchased Sony WH-1000M4 (which are *chefs kiss* and phenomenal value for their now couple-of-years-old price), and they worked great at like 70% volume. My husband kindly communicated for me with the flight attendants. If you’re on the fence, please try them. They are pricey but totally worth it if you also suffer from excruciating ear pain and don’t want to undergo surgery or even go on a medication or something.

These ear plugs are amazing best thing l have brought , did a six week holiday overseas , l few 11 times . And every single time l had the ear plugs in . I didn’t throw any of them away , just cleaned them every few days and wore them again . So l probably wouldn’t get the 10 pack again cause you can just re use them over and over again . But saying that l am very happy with these , no ear pain at all . Put them in 1/2 hr before l flew and then took them out about 1/2 later when we where in the air , and then put them back in 1/2 hr before we descended down . Can’t fault these at all , one very happy customer . Will be using these again and again .
