Hongdian D5X Fountain Pen, Qin Dynasty Retro Chinese Totem Engraving Smooth Writing with Converter and Pen Box, Extra Fine Nib, Black

Attractive and unusual themed pen. Black and silver with a red crossbow arrow clip. In fine (medium would have been a lovely option.) Posts OK (but I don't post.) Well balanced. I only use it as a dip pen, so no comment on the filling mechanism (no reason why it wouldn't be effective.) Heavy all metal. Stunning to look at. Writes about as well as other fine nibs of mine. Minor tweak on the tines but now good. Certainly out of the realms of the mundane in black pens. Love it.

Note, mine did *NOT* arrive with the Hongdian booklet which explains all of the pen’s symbology. Arrived in the time advised, nice pen to look at and use. I purchased the ‘X’ version to avoid the faf of using a wrench to maintain/clean the plunger.

This is the flagship pen for the company. While the intricate body work is very good and the pen has a good heft, the clip was stiff and cheap and the nib was very scratchy. Better Quality control needed.

Very disappointing ordered this pen as the reviews from other country’s were good ordered the extra fine nib the pen that arrived was at best a medium nowhere near to being an extra fine This will be getting returned
