Great product except releasing
This was fairly easy to set up and use. It helped my neck pain just as much as spending the extra to go to the chiropractor. The convience at home is wonderful. The only thing I dislike about this system is the release. It took a few tries to figure out a trick to releasing it easy. It snapped my neck back down too quickly and quite roughly the first couple of times. Worth buying but be cautious when youre trying to release the tension.

So happy I found this!
I have degenerative disc disease. In the last 2 years it has caused the right side of my neck to constantly hurt and numbness in my fingers. I have tried many devices, including an expensive device that generally gets great reviews. I think it did not work because I am fairly large and I don't think I was able to strap myself in and get the correct angle. I really had low expectations for this device after reading the reviews. When I pulled it out of the box, I was not impressed at all. But I assembled it and hooked it to my office door and worked with it to see how it would work. Once I figured out how everything went together and functioned (just a few minutes), I gave it a try. The first thing I noticed was that I was able to create actual pull with a force I had never felt from any other device before. I didn't do too much, and just sat with it pulling for about 8 minutes. Once I released the pressure, I really didn't notice much difference. My neck pain was still there, my numbness had not gone away, oh well, so I just sat at my desk and went back to work. After about 10 minutes I noticed my neck pain had disappeared! Gone. I now use this 2-3x per day for 10-15 minutes. After about 10 days it did start helping with the numbness in my fingers, but I may have nerve damage and only time will tell if that will go away. Regardless, I don't have the neck pain anymore and I would recommend giving this one a try.

Crudely made. Potentially unsafe.
Mine was made from extremely basic components and was crudely made and finished. It seemed like a collection of cheap mismatched parts thrown together to made the device. I tried it twice and found the ratcheting mechanism to be irregular and unreliable. When releasing the tension, mine had to pulled very hard and in the perfect direction to release (downward and outward away from me). Its release was not guaranteed. When it did release, it was sudden like an un-sprung spring - not a gentle reapplication of pressure to the spine. I deemed it unsafe and threw it out.

Functional
The neck cradle has a lack of adjustment options, so certain sized heads (such as mine) will have pressure placed in odd locations and may cause significant discomfort during operation. That said, it is cushy and of decent material/padding. Do not use this device on hollow core doors. If you don't know what a hollow core door is, don't use this device on your doors. You will put a hole in your door in short order. The rubber sleeve for the fastening device is cheap, and tears easy with pressure. These rubber covers are blatantly cheap and low quality, but the rest of the system is really what you're paying for- and that system is solid. The metal parts of the devices are solid and effective. You're not getting the chiropractor model, this isn't going to blow you away in feel or in function. The release mechanism is easy to use, but releases all pressure at once, so if you are using significant pressure, expect a very hard and janky release. Over all, this feels like a solid buy for a budget conscious system, but it is by no means the magic bullet for all your needs.

Hate to admit it works so well
This thing looks so dumb, and I look so dumb using it but by god it’s awesome, works every time! Whenever my neck hurts I just spent about 10 minutes slowly upping my head and sitting up straight while using it. Stupid how such a cheap product fixed my neck problems. But hey it works.

Was not able to get the pressure spread evenly on my chin and back of head
Seems to be well constructed but the head cradle didn't work for my head. The pressure was mainly under my chin and not way to adjust the cradle to spread the pressure to both the back of my head and my chin. So, it was useless to me because it was pulling my head backwards thereby increasing my pain due to compression on the back part of my spine. If the cradle was designed so that you could adjust the pressure more to the back or even all over chin and back of head it might have worked.

I am very pleased with this product, being a retired sports trainer and massage therapist, I want to give it a go, read all the reviews, for the guy who said it wasn’t high enough, try siting on chair, mine is on a weighted pole, but for an exercise I fixed it to a sheet of plywood, put the head end on 100mm block and used it laying down, worked well, always remember to be cautious with neck and back, study what you are trying to achieve, I even believe it has helped my compressed back, I also push up a little on releasing traction to avoid it snapping off suddenly resulting in jarring, always be careful!
