This is an essential textbook for high school sophomores taking AP (Advanced Placement) classes. You can use it to preview the material covered in class and deepen your understanding. Before exams, it also helps you review any sections you didn’t fully grasp. Be sure to check the publication year before purchasing; older editions may differ in content.

Taught AP Psych for the first time last year (2024-2025) and as a newbie to the course (and given that the course was completely redesigned last year) I was desperate for material, especially test questions. This had plenty of both, along with great explanations for correct answers. In my opinion, its material was a bit harder than the AP exam (I had an 80% pass rate) - but I think that's a good thing... I'd rather my students be over prepared rather than underprepared.

Must have for AP studies. It has 3 built in practice tests which were very helpful.

College Board has changed the curriculum several times the last few years, and Princeton Review has done a pretty good job, not perfect, of keeping up. I like the practice tests in this one better than Barron's. If you're self-studying, avail yourself of the CED and instructional videos on AP Classroom. They are free to use, and used along with this book, you'll have a good chance of scoring well on the exam.
