Exceeded all expectations
We have a new blended family of 5 plus large dog in a midsize SUV. All seats and space are taken up. This product blew our expectations out of the water!! 1. There was room for everything we needed to pack for a weekend trip. 2. The no slip grip really works. This baby didn’t budge with 8 hours of round trip road time. 3. We live in Michigan and it was rain/freezing rain. This product really is WEATHERPROOF. No leaks. 4. It was easy to install, take down, put back up—and we have no roof rack. If you aren’t sure it will work, I’m going to tell you it will. And I rarely write reviews. Great product.

Very nice!
Our family vehicle is a 2020 Honda Odyssey without rooftop rails. I was short on time before a long car trip. I reviewed the best quick, budget options on Amazon and went w/ the 21 cubic feet rooftop cargo carrier. After a 1600 mile round trip here are some observations. Waterproof: Of course the road trip started out with strong rain because life is hilarious. No worries though, since the zipper is heavy duty and the zipper flap seals with Velcro. Everything was dry upon arrival at our destination, 800 miles later. I probably wouldn’t recommend keeping things in the rooftop carrier for several days in humid or rainy weather, though. Other reviews have mentioned issues in those conditions. Play it safe and put things in the rooftop carrier that won’t get destroyed with moisture. Also, the hooks did not prevent the rubber seal on each door frame from working. Rain did not get in despite the less than perfect seal. Durability: The material is very strong and can take a beating. Your average weather conditions (not counting extremes) shouldn’t cause any issues. Strap strength: This was my biggest concern. The directions aren’t the most descriptive with how to tighten the straps, so some trial & error (before driving) is necessary. The manual says only 2 straps on each side of the vehicle are needed for vehicles without rails or racks, although 6 frame hooks are included with the package. I attached 6 hooks on the front 6 straps (1 in each front door frame, 2 in each sliding side door), then wrapped the 2 back straps (1 on either side) to the closest strap w/ hook. Combine that with the nonslip mat and a reasonable load weight and nothing moved (that I could tell). Sound: It is inevitable that you will have some sound in the vehicle since the straps & hooks prevent the doors from sealing as tightly as without the rooftop cargo carrier installed. The stereo volume will need to be a little higher. Also, the straps may make some sound, so do your best to tighten them (to each other if applicable) to cut down on flapping. I caught this product with a $20 discount voucher, although I believe it’s still a great deal without. It’s a great budget option and well worth your money.

Works great! Follow the instructions!
This worked perfect for what we needed! Arrived when we expected, everything was in the package, setup was fairly straight forward. Pulled back weather strip on my 2019 Nissan, clips fit under when and held secure. Then set the non-slip thingy on the roof, then faced the cargo bag so it would close to the rear. Fit one large suitcase at the front and 2 med/lrg suitcases sideways, and a couple small bags by the smaller suitcases. Straps went through the loops and clipped as they were suppose to. Secured the extra with the velcro ends as they said in instructions. Drove 9 hours in pouring rain and 40-50mph winds. No leaks, no water damage, everything came out like we zipped it in. Used 2nd time to return, was more like 8hrs with heavy snow and mild winds, again no issues. Very happy with the cargo bag, will use again, will recommend. *notes for use- pay attention to have it zip to the back, make sure the zippers touch in the middle at the back, make sure the velcro has full contact to hold the orange flap down. Don't try to overfill the bag, don't use sharp edges or feet of suitcases sliding across the material, load it slightly smaller or lower at the front of the car. It does take an extra 30min-1 hour to load it all up and store it away, but worked great!

Worked great cross country during snow storm. One zipper issue, but we made it home fine.
I can't speak for everyone but based on some of the reviews I think many people don't know these bags have a learning curve. Make sure the bag is facing the right way (no zipper side is the front) and pull the straps tight so the bag doesn't flap to avoid fraying. A flapping back will fatigue and fray. Aside from that, this bag was easy to use. We drove over 3100 miles from Arizona though New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota through snow, wind, and plenty of wet snow slush. This bag held up through the highway speeds, Wyoming gusty wind, and all the moisture. Lots of storage: It was able to fit a full size checked bag, mid size, and 3 small carry-ons with a little room at the back for small things (in our case, dog food). Gas mileage: Our Forester's mileage took about 10-20% hit but all things considered, having a bag this big on the roof that isn't horrible. I think a hitch carrier might impact mileage less, but it won't hold as much either. 🤷♂️ Tips: I found that coiling the included straps around themselves cut down on wind noise. See photo for example. Since we were travelling through high wind and cold, I added some ratchet straps for piece of mind. I was afraid the plastic buckles on the bag would break, however we did not have any issues. Issues: I did have one of the zipper pulls come off track during our return trip. The other zipper pull did the job solo and we got home without issue. I could fix it myself but we decided to reach out to the company since they claim to have a good warranty. Unfortunately we have not heard back. I would give 0/10 for customer service. I will update if the situation changes. Update: the seller messaged me after posting my review. I am disappointed they did not respond to email, but they have offered to replace my damaged bag. 10/10.

Amazing if you don't have a hitch luggage carrier
Taking a family trip reserved a rental car unfortunately got a SUV (Jeep Wagoneer) with no hitch and one was not available with a hitch. Purchased this item because we have several very large luggage and would not fit inside the car with everyone inside. I was surprised the cargo Carrier bag was able to fit 2 of the very large luggage and there was still room for small bags and other miscellaneous items. The cargo bag material is very thick and very well made. There is flap with Velcro that cover the zipper prevent water getting into the bag. The company thought of everything comes with a mat to put on your roof of your vehicle before placing the cargo bag to protect your vehicle paint and the bag wont slip while traveling. the install is very simple didn't even need to use the instructions and looks amazing. Best part it was less express than purchasing the hitch luggage carrier. Update: After 1,800 miles Luggage stayed safe and even with some hard braking and quick acceleration there wasn't noticeable movement in the cargo carrier bag. I checked the straps while we stopped for gas and food, straps stayed tight. My only complaint is, its cumbersome getting luggage and bags out Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag while it strapped to the roof of the vehicle. since the straps go from the top of the bag to the pinch welds of the car doors you will need to loosen the straps to get anything out Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag.

Great For Two Years, Then Falling Apart
Worked really well for a few years [maybe 90-100 trip days]. Then the Velcro started delaminating [falling off] and now the zipper across one side jumps the track and splits open behind the zip. I guess nothing is built to last - but for the price we paid I expect more. It was completely waterproof and a good size.

Great product
The carrier was a great idea to be more confortable inside the car. We had rain during trip and everything stayed dry so great protection against water. The quality looked great no issues. I was able to 2 carry on bag 1 full size case, 1 big duffle and 2 bag packs with the 21 cubic feet.

They stand behind their product.
Extra star to customer service I would like to update my review of the "Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag" after having dealt with the customer service department. Initially, my experience with the product was disappointing due to the challenging installation process and the bag's poor durability. However, I must commend the customer service team for their professionalism and dedication to resolving the issue. Upon contacting the customer service department about the problems I faced with the product, they were responsive and understanding. They listened to my concerns and made every effort to rectify the situation. They provided helpful guidance on the proper installation of the cargo carrier bag, which made a significant difference. The team also offered to replace the damaged bag, addressing the durability issue I encountered. I appreciate that the customer service department stood behind their product and took the necessary steps to make things right. Their excellent support and willingness to address my concerns have positively influenced my overall perception of the product. While my initial experience was frustrating, the commendable efforts of the customer service team have improved my opinion of the "Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag." The product's carrying capacity remains one of its strengths, and with the assistance of the customer service team, the installation process became more manageable. In conclusion, while I had reservations about the product initially, the excellent customer service experience has been a game-changer. If you decide to purchase the "Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag," know that their customer service is professional and willing to assist should any issues arise. With proper installation and support from the team, this product could be a viable option for expanding your car's storage space. I recently purchased the "Car Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag" with the hopes of expanding the storage space in my car. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been less than satisfactory. Firstly, the installation process was incredibly challenging and frustrating. The instructions provided were unclear, and the straps and buckles were of poor quality, making it difficult to secure the bag properly to the roof of my car. It took me a significant amount of time and effort to finally get it installed, which was quite disappointing. Furthermore, the durability of the cargo carrier bag was highly disappointing. After just two uses, I noticed tears and damages on the bag's surface, rendering it ineffective for any future trips. It's worth noting that I didn't exceed the speed limit or drive aggressively on the freeway, yet the bag couldn't withstand even moderate usage. This lack of durability is a major drawback, as the bag is supposed to provide reliable protection for your belongings during transportation. On a positive note, I must admit that the cargo carrier bag did have a commendable carrying capacity. It provided ample space for my belongings, allowing me to transport a significant amount of cargo. However, this positive aspect is overshadowed by the bag's other drawbacks, particularly its difficulty to install and its poor durability.
