I really enjoy Light Mountain's hair product
I really enjoy Light Mountain's hair product. The conditioning is amazing...it has truly repaired and restored my very, very damaged and abused hair. I was facing going short (my hair is just above my bra strap) to get rid of damage and tried this as a last-ditch effort to "save" my hair. It worked! It looks twice as thick, is stronger and feels amazingly silky. I've used this color (Burgundy) as well as Bright Red, Light Brown and Red. Just a word of caution ~ some of the colors contain quite a lot of indigo along with the henna. This is not a bad thing all the way around, but my previously-bleached hair grabs the indigo more than the henna, which leaves me with a drab greenish/blackish/bluish hue until it starts to fade out in a couple weeks. That was the case for me with burgundy and with light brown. My fault though! DO THE TEST STRAND like the manufacturer recommends because you really won't know how your hair will react (colorwise) until you do! TOTALLY MY FAULT as I chose to skip the strand test each time because I'm an inpatient risk-taker and when using this product, I'm after the conditioning/renewing/restoring effects more than the color! If you strand test and you do not like the results, Light Mountain will send you a coupon to try another color! So just do it! ;) Also, follow the directions completely. I see so many reviews that criticize this product while at the same time describing some sort of "alternate" method or recipe using this product. If you don't follow their instructions, you cannot complain! ;) As far as mixing and application goes, some colors require a cure time and some don't. The mixture is like a clay/mud and it does smell very herbaceous, which I LOVE. I use a lot of herbs and essential oils, so maybe someone less familiar with these "natural" scents would mind. The scent does tend to stick around for 3-5 days after using, even after I finally shampoo (I wait 48 hours before shampoo'ing, just using conditioner) and it does start to ever-so-slightly annoy me as the scent goes from lovely herbal to faded-herbal but it's not something to knock this product for, as it's just the nature and properties of henna, indigo and/or cassia (aka natural hair color). One final note, since my hair had been bleached/dyed so many times prior to using Light Naturals that it does not come out very red on me at all right now, I decided to amp up the red color by using Manic Panic over it, between applications. (Note: It does take more red on my "virgin" hair but the ends/damaged parts don't stay reddish long. This is another normal thing with henna on very processed hair.) I've read warning that using henna frequently can make the hair too dark (and I don't want it darker) so I decided to try MP between Henna'ing and it works GREAT! Now I Henna every 8-12 weeks and do MP every 6 weeks or so. It's a great combination and my hair has never felt better.

Best w/ Heat Bonnet
Works great with heat bonnet with hose… Use over plastic wrap or plastic bag to keep hair wet.. Around 15 to 20 minutes.. Best color results with heat…

Healthy hair and gray covered!
The smell that others noticed was definitely there. The smell fades after a few washes. I’m not able to comment on the color because I have medium/dark brown hair so it didn't change my color. But it did color all of my grey and it gave my hair a more rich color look. Made my hair feel strong and soft. I did the burgundy color and left it on my hair for 4 hours.

Its NOT a Burgundy, its a Brown...
I love using henna. For the past year I have been using Light Mountain's Red (with the fox picture) and it was a perfect shade for me. But this time I wanted to try something a little bit darker and maybe a bit more of a red than and orange, so I thought I'd try it in Burgundy this time. Unfortunately, I feel this product does not create a burgundy most want. It turned my hair more into a chocolaty Brown... I lost a lot of the red color I was hoping to get and I lost the red color I had. Thankfully henna is something I am not afraid to do over. Sometime later during winter break I will probably try to put back the red in it with Light Mountain's Red shade againg. I am glad henna won't harm my hair by using it multiple times but it will make it darker than I originally intended

Perfect choice for natural hair color
Light Mountain Naturals hair color is the best natural pre-mixed color around! It takes a couple of applications to feel comfortable with the process, but I will never go back to traditional at home hair color again.
