Yarn tends to unravel but was manageable. Not as soft as I would have liked but not bad. Instructions are good but may not be best for true beginners. Main issue I had is some of the yarn colors don’t match the descriptions (otherwise everything you need is included ) just had to make do, decided to only made one dog. Black yarn is hard to work with unless you have really good lighting and vision lol.

I am a total beginner. I'm glad that I bought this because I like the pattern and the hooks provided, but I have a few issues. Firstly, the instructions start with making one of the more complicated pieces, so my front and back are both a bit messed up and there wasn't enough material to try to do them over. It seems like a normal rectangle would have been a better starting point to get used to understanding the stitches. The large dumpster assembly instructions and video are not great. I am struggling more to attach the arms and heart and have it look right than I did to do the actual crochet. Finally, as a couple other people mentioned the yarn is poor quality and there was not enough of it to finish the project as instructed. The flames are really cool, though, and I'm excited to finish my first very flawed dumpster. I will definitely make a small dumpster next and will probably make more tiny dumpster fires to give as gifts out of nicer yarn.

Adorable set that's easy. There isn't complicated instructions so this was an easy follow. I feel like I can do better on the embroidery part but I still enjoyed it and finished one pup so far. With this being an easier instructions I bet my 8 yr old could do it too. The color is good and the dogs are cute when completed. My kids love playing with it too so I'm happy about that as well. For beginners it's great because it comes with a book describing with words and photos how to do it. The needle is metal and a good quality not plastic which is great. I also appreciate the clips that come with it to and the needle. Everything you'd need to finish this. I find the hardest part is sewing the pieces together, not so much the sewing but the hiding my end knot. But I'm sure I'll get better. Great set, easy to do, perfect for beginners because of the simplicity of this guide, cute result. Overall happy! The only down side.... My husband says I look 30 yrs older than I really am now haha

The hook and yarn are thin, and the stitches are small, so it's not something I would recommend for learning to crochet. Apart from that, the finished pieces are really cute and I highly recommend this kit, which is fun to make!

I've picked up crocheting just 6 months ago but I've made over 50 amigurumi so I consider myself not beginner anymore. This kit provides you with all the crochet tools, yarn, instruction, enough to complete all four dumpster fire plush. $37 is a bit steep considering the cost of materials but it's a good kit otherwise since you can make 4 different dumpster! Pro - Extremely cute designs that would make such a cute gift as a crochet kit, or as a final product. - Yarns are average quality, but the crochet hook works good enough I havn't had a lot of splitting. - Safety eyes comes with backing - Instruction booklet includes written and video tutorial. - Video is clear and goes slowly for beginners. Cons - Video hosted on youtube, not on their own website - Some yarn such as the blue and pink has barely enough so you need to leave short ends and not waste them. - Stuffing has just enough, be careful not to over stuff. - The video tutorial is in english but some words are pronounced weirdly (They pronounce crochet as Crok-ket for example)

This is a really good beginner's kit. It comes with all the necessary tools to get started right away. It comes with two instruction booklets. One that basically acts as a crocheting 101 guide that teaches you all the basics, from hook sizing to how to hold your yarn and hook and start your chain. The second one provides the instructions for the actual design pattern. Both use a good font size, and the instructions are easy to read and follow. Photos are also included, which is a nice visual aid. I'm still just a novice when it comes to crocheting. I'm still working on completing the first dumpster, but so far it has been a pretty easy experience. That being said, I already had some prior experience, so I'm not sure how straightforward things would seem to someone who has never crocheted before. Still, I think this is a solid kit for first timers!

I got this kit for my 8 yr old daughter, she never crochet before but she followed the video and made one for her teacher as a end-of-year gift. It turned out super cute (the pink one with fire)! The eyes and yarn all included, plus even scissors. She messed up once but figured it out. I didn’t have to help much. Great for beginners, funny little project, would buy again for her cousins maybe.
