My K1 is a later model that already has the red cover hot end, it printed well but the nozzle was ready for replacement. When searching for a new nozzle I saw this kit which included the new unicorn nozzle for not much more cost than a replacement nozzle. Bit the bullet and bought this upgrade kit. Install took about 10 minutes, everything fit perfectly. Fired up the machine with a fresh roll of filament. Ran a self test (input shaper and auto level), max flow test, and a very fast temperature test. After about 3 hours of test prints and a couple very minor tweaks my K1 is printing better than it ever has. This new hot end and the new default profiles in the crealitu slicer are so much better than what the K1 shipped with. It's obviously very strongly inspired by the Bambu products but at a fraction of the cost and honesty better part and upgrade availability. Very happy with my K1 and this unicorn hot end.

I have had this for a few months now , the heat this can handle is great . Fits perfectly in place of the one I had to pull off . I have had some clogging with them but I would think that’s expected every now and then . For the price , I would say I get my moneys worth with all the printing I have done since swapping to this setup .

Do not buy this if you have a newer K1C. They will not fit the K1C. I have seen other K series have this problem. The PCBA tool board that comes with the machine has a different. Upgrading isn’t fun because the creality 400103014 Is this one that works mit had the clips. Seems like the line who put together the wrong JST male. The thermistor jst connections band they don’t fit. So now to find the correct you will need to find the connection board or you need to find hot tend with claws. I think the line decided to install the wrong connection board. Finding this hot end isn’t easily and finding the correct board is even more challening. They put the wrong jst and it doesn’t fit.

Been using this for months on a printer that gets a ton of use. No complaints so far. Good qualty from creality and setup was not too difficult. You will need some patience for small components.

Easy to install and replacement of the old nozzle. My old nozzle got so clogged up that I had to use a Dremel cutting wheel to remove it. This was any easy replacement as it included all the extra pieces like the heat sink that I had to cut through. If you need a replacement, I found this one to be more than suitable but wouldn't have replaced a working nozzle just because this is a new version.

​Why did you pick this product vs others?:​ I have been waiting to see how this nozzle system would be adopted, as there have been so many systems over the years that go nowhere. After seeing other manufacturers adopting the same nozzle system I decided to try this upgrade. Clogs and extruder issues are extremely difficult to clear when using the original K1 Max hotend system, which uses Volcano nozzles. With this Unicorn system, clogs and extruder issues are very easy to clear. PLUS, I can swap nozzles in seconds now. ​Fit:​ The new parts fit really well, though you may have trouble removing the original components. Creality used a HUGE amount of hot glue to glue in connectors, making the removal extremely difficult. Try using isopropyl alcohol to remove the glue. It may take a bit of time to do this, but it will prevent you from destroying the PCB while trying to remove the connectors. ​Value for money:​ Just like the original extruder had to be replaced, which Creality provided free of charge, the original hotends also need to be replaced. However, I had to pay $137.92 in total to upgrade both of my K1 Max printers to this new system, which includes replacing the replacement nozzles. Fixing manufacturing defects should be free, as I have been dealing with these issues for 2 years. If you need to repair an existing Unicorn system due to some failure or accident, I think the price point is good. I did find that 1 claim in the description is false. There is absolutely no difference in the maximum flow rate of this Unicorn system and the original Volcano system. I had a maximum volumetric flow rate of 22cm^3/s before, and a test after the installation I have a maximum volumetric flow rate of 22cm^3/s now. No difference at all. What I did gain is the ability to clear issues much faster, and easier, while also being able to hot-swap nozzles in less than 30 seconds. These plusses are more than enough reason to upgrade, but I did remove 1 star for the false claim of the maximum volumetric extrusion increasing to 32cm^3/s. BEST
