Worth the money
Direct bolt on replacement for my original shocks that were really shot after 130,000 miles. Considered the OEM Bilsteins but these got such great reviews that it really swayed my decision. These are very expensive but it was worth every penny. Initially felt slightly stiff but either I'm getting used to them or they are loosening up slightly. These really restored my ride quality. I've hit some potholes hard that I couldn't dodge and these really do a wonderful job dampening. General highway driving I would say that the ride was firm but not harsh. Going into bends these help keep the truck level. Braking dive changed drastically for the better. Overall money well spent. Even the guys at the local garage had a good time making fun of them. "Hey look at the truck with the chrome bilsteins!" Although they are actually a brushed aluminum housing they do look good. Thanks Amazon!

Good upgrade over factory
The 5100 series shocks are very good shocks without going high end in price. They ride much better than brand new stock shocks even. The installation is very straight forward, comes with instructions and fits without any issues. Upgrade your ride comfort with these shocks, specially if you’re do to replace your factory ones.

Best quality!
Installed on my 2004 Sierra z71 and the difference is highly noticeable not only in height difference but ride quality. These are some of the best shocks available for these trucks and they are really worth the money. I wouldn’t hesitate to install them on my other vehicles. I off-road my truck constantly and these have made a huge difference providing me with more control and comfort when in harsh terrain.

Replaced rear shocks on 2007 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L LT (no lift)
We bought the Bilstein (24-186742) shock absorber to replace the original rear shocks on a 2007 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L LT (no lift). Amazon's fitment check reported it did not fit our vehicle. The Bilstein website confirmed this was the right part number. This Bilstein shock matched the uncompressed length of the OEM shock. Remove & replace was easy without having to jack the truck. Only needed a floor jack to slightly compress the new shock a few inches to fit into the truck's lower holder. Most of our driving is city with some travel trailer towing 5-6 times a year. We were immediately pleased with the improved ride handling and performance in city driving. We're sure the towing performance will also be good. We have used this product for 3 days since installed in August 2016.

Great shocks, but the biggest difference will be in replacing the front shocks.
Bilstein 5100s are probably the best buy shocks for the average consumer. The front shocks made a night and day difference from the stock ones. You should know that changing the rear shocks on your truck won't make as huge an impact as changing the front ones do though. What's a quick test to see if your front shocks need to be replaced? Go over a speed bump. If your vehicle rocks left and right somewhat violently as you go over, it's time for new shocks. Shocks are one of the most simple tasks to do on a truck. You don't even need to jack up the truck if you have enough room to slide underneath. For a 2006 Silverado, you'll need two ratchets. One ratchet to hold the bolt head and one ratchet to unscrew the nut off the bolt. Take the bottom and top bolt off (2 bolts total) and pull the shock out. Replace with the new shock and put grease or anti seize on your bolts you took off. Put the bolts back on and tighten with your ratchet until it's snug. You can also tighten with a torque wrench set for the appropriate setting for your vehicle (probably 60+ ftlbs without anti seize, less ftlbs with anti seize). DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. So reminder. Use anti seize on the bolts and do not over tighten the bolts. If your bolts are severely corroded and you need new ones, your best bet is to go to a specialty fastener store that mostly just sells bolts, nuts, etc. Vehicles usually use a certain grade steel (10.9) and size (usually metric such as m14) for the bolts that you may not be able to get at Home Depot/Lowes/Auto parts store. Your other option is trying the dealership for the bolts.

Great fit for a 2002 2WD Silverado with 2" Rear Lift Blocks
I installed these on a 2002 2WD Silverado with 2" lift blocks on the rear. I can echo what others have written about the quality of ride. These provide a smooth feel for driving through cities with holes and cracks in the road. I actually mixed the following for a front and rear setup. For a data point for anyone looking for sizes on a 2WD Chevy, I have: Bilstein 24029025 Front -- I have a 3" lift spindle on the front with no spacers; this is basically a stock setup as the spindles do not change the stock angles Bilstein 24186742 Rear -- The 2" lift blocks on a 2WD put it right in the range for these, which is similar to the stock 4WD dimensions. Definitely worth the money.

Fits 2003 gmc Sierra 2500 4x4
Should have put these on a long time ago, fits no problem, and rides smoother than it has ever rode since the truck was new, highly recommend

These are better than Rancho!
I bought Rancho shocks and after less than a week they were already rusted and the ride sucked so I returned them. I had Bilstein on the front and was happy with them so I ordered them for the rear. They are definitely a superior shock! Lesson learned. Don’t try to save a buck when it comes to your shocks.

These are great shocks for the money, they ride really good on my 3/4 ton GMC. The rubber boots come with small plastic zip-tie which i cut off and replaced with larger zip ties on each end of the rubber boot and also stretched the boot 2 inch before i tightened the zip tie to prevent early boot cracking from being over compressed. These shock are also 1.5-2 inches longer than stock GM shocks

I installed these myself in my Silverado. The install is insanely easy. Two bolts is all you need. The ride is amazing. It felt like the truck was floating. Obviously the 12 year old stockers were past their prime but these were a great add. It has changed the truck. Good product. Quick shipping. Good buy.

Easy to install, feels like higher quality than the stock shocks. 2 of the 4 originals on my 2010 Silverado 2500hd were broken. Nice ride now.
