So far I love these. They detect smoke right away. It hits boost mode.

Stopped working after 4 months. Seller did not offer a warranty. I called the head office and an investigation on the seller has commenced. The company only has an email address to reach out to them.

Does a great job including smells which other purifiers were not very good at that we had. Not sure how contaminated air has to be to get a higher fan level (you can do manual if you like) but even in rooms we know the air quality could be better we still get the blue light for good air. Called the company and they walked me through some tests to make sure the sensor was working and it passed the tests with no problems. So I think the air has to be very dirty before color would change and resulting in the fan automatically increasing the speed. I would recommend using manual mode and choosing your fan speed for the room. Very easy to use and directions simple and understandable.

Don’t let the 4 star confuse you, because I do LOVE my air doctor. Definitely not the cheapest, but it does amazing at improving the air quality in our home. We have a golden retriever as well for reference. This thing sits in our living room and kicks on anytime we are cooking. It clears the air relatively quickly, and I have even noticed how much better I feel downstairs vs how scratchy my throat is after being upstairs without it for over an hour. I am taking off a star because it is quite loud when it’s on the highest setting (which kicks on a lot after we prep breakfast on dinner.. as it should). I also purchased the blue air purifier for comparison and noticed that it is SO much quieter, however it does not clear the smells as quickly and is reported not to be able to distinguish particles as small as viruses like the air doctor. Highly recommend if you can get past the noise factor!
